musicemt
A running drum corps trivia game has gotten serious.....one of my buddies asked me who won high brass on the field in 1986, and who won best overall brass in the same year. As a hint, he generously threw in the tidbit that the corps that won high brass is no longer in existance. I've searched everywhere else, thought I'd give you guys a try. Any answers or ideas on where I can find them? 'Preciate the help, guys. Ben Dowdy

mingusmonk
Who won Field Percussion at the 1991 Preview of Champions Prelims (Whitewater) against all of the top corps while finishing a more typical 10th in Ensemble?
lucas97
The Bluecoats, and UNdeservedly so. :) (It was the Preview of Champions in Madison, not Midwest in Whitewater.) Edited April 13, 2004 by lucas97
mingusmonk
The Bluecoats, and UNdeservedly so. :)(It was the Preview of Champions in Madison, not Midwest in Whitewater.) Funny how it all just blurs as time passes. Anyhow. That tape is a fascinating study. Rarely, in those times, did you hear a judge get so caught up in the pit (which, BTW, did deserve 1st .... often). With the recent grumblings and changes in percussion judging revolving around the pit, that would serve as learning experience. And this comment comes from a member of the 1991 battery. Suncoast was always known for their brass line!
