uncle z
hornguard-- Toby, I can't give you partial credit. But you DO get style points for being 19 and having a take at the "old school" trivia!! :P J.C.--Awesome job on #3, #6 (but we'll add the Spirit of '76 to make the number a less unlucky 14), #7, #8, #18 and #19 (let's add Anderson clan to the equation--BTW, as soon as the Kilts change to Fraser tartan I"ll be there representing) Janesville is bummin' over the disrespect............... RobH
1. I'm thinking it's Ken Norman! 2. I'm also thinking it's Ken Norman! 4. I forgot about the Shoreliners - great call, JC! 6. Believe it was President Eisenhower who proclaimed Racine as DC Capital of the world (I know, wasn't the question but it was already answered!) 18. In another bout of real Kiltie trivia, did you know that Fred Hoppe was also a DM with Kilts - I think around 65-66 or so! 22. No clue, but it was likely held at Lakefront Stadium in Kenosha (which no longer exists - the stadium, that is!), so it must have been in honor of the freezing cold winds off Lake Michigan (hence the name "Lakefront" Stadium)........... you got me on all the others..........my brain's just too fried............ J.C.
#19 (let's add Anderson clan to the equation--BTW, as soon as the Kilts change to Fraser tartan I"ll be there representing)Janesville is bummin' over the disrespect............... Thanks Uncle Z. Not sure how I forgot Anderson. Serious Brain Fart Only the south side of Janesville is bummin. I still have my Janesville Explorers drum corps button from 1969. It still has the black and gold ribbons on it. And finally... About the wearing of the Fraser Tartan... You'd be amazed how easy it was for the Buchanan Clan of America to get us in their Clan Tartan. All they had to do was buy us 100 kilts. B) J.C. P.S. I didn't list Spirit of 76 because the Boys of 76 turned into the Spirit of 76 just after they admitted women in the corps in the early 70s. But I did forget to list the Holy Name Drum and Bugle Corps on my list. Another brain fart. My wife's grandfather marched with them before WWI, and was an original member of the Boys of 76 after the war. Bagerland Rules!!! Edited May 4, 2004 by J.C.
