Yep, Westshore bought BDs old unis which beat the crud out of the ancient cadet type unis (aka Powder Blue Bake Ovens) we had since????

The two years DCI was at Philly (75/76) Westshoremen held a night after DCI "Clap show" at Hershey. 1976 we were standing in the old BD unis practicing and saw one of the current BDs running by at full speed. The BD stopped dead in his tracks and looked at us with a WTF look. After a few seconds he took off again, wonder what was running in his mind at the time.

Phillip was a "lawn jockey" lawn ornament which usually held a lantern. People used to these in front of their houses in the 60s/early 70s. The jockeys got to be controversial because most had black faces. After that most had their faces painted over or just disappeared. Madisons Phillip was sitting near the DM podium near the show and held a bugle (at least that's what he has on my old pin).

Blue Stars-- Bicentennial Stars were not only on the tymps, but also on the.....?

Seneca-- Think of which country they were from--and this MIGHT be the only year that two corps made DCI Finals that were from the same metro area!!

Guardsmen-- Guess again. 12th place in horns.

Good job, Cliff. I'm happy to see your memory is pretty well intact!!!

I believe Phillip was painted 1/2 white and 1/2 black.........Dan Guernsey, Dan Scerpella or Robert Pilot should be the authority on that!!! (Time for some Phillip stories, guys!!!)
