I was just informed by someone who knows that the Anaheim Kingsmen was the only horn line (up to 74) that Argonne Rebels never beat.

Shouldn't that move us up a notch or so in the polls?

Ron,

Argonne started winning national caliber horn titles in the late 60's. In 1970 we won our first (brass) title at VFW in Miami. 1971 was perhaps our best year, 19.00 (14.00 in execution, 5.0 in Content) out of 20.00 at VFW in Dallas.

It was an aberation if anyone beat us in brass during the early 70's. Take for example 1972 DCI with a 9th place score by the #1 execution (brass) judge at DCI finals. I am not moaning, stuff like that happens. The 1973 hornline was well documented. The exposure in that show was substantial, a quantum leap from the 5.0 hornlines (and anything that anyone had done). Although we win high brass in prelims, we took a hit MA (and execution) at finals? Anyway, I believe we met the Kingsmen at most of those shows.
