byline
Well, here I'm going to go with a favorite from my own corps: "El Gato Triste" (complete with the wonderful baritone trio and the memorable "X" drill move). Seemed like Oakland was trying to replicate that with other pieces the years I marched ("Spanish Dreams" in '78 and '79, etc.), but were never able to match it. LancerLegend
My thoughts go to the tune that evoked an emotional response - not just because it was a good tune. SCV - 1973's Chava - bird whistles and marching backwards - I can still see them Kingsmen - 1973 King of Kings, 1974 So Very Hard To Go 27th - 1971, 1975, 1980 Danny Boy BD - 1976 Chase the Clouds Away - and 1980 Dindi Spirit - 1980 Let It Be Me (hear that melo solo in the background?) Madison - 1974 Brian's Song Kilties - Auld Lang Syne Cadets - 1983 Simple Song from the Mass, 1987 Simple Gifts These made me stop and listen. I still get goose bumps. FYI - BAC's Conquest has been spread around in their production. It was not always their closer.
