KeithHall
Of all the corps that were and are, what corps name was the coolest or the oddest? Hollywood Knights Schlossgarde
LancerLegend
The corps known as the Immaculate Conception Reveries, from Revere, Ma was a catholic church sponsored drum corps that folded operations in September 1967. The kids, not wanting to be abandon, and who always hung around at George Bonfiglio's home, pleaded with him and Patsy to find a way to continue with a corps. When he agreed, someone asked what the name of this new corps would be? Literally on tv at that very moment, was the 1936 film The Charge of the Light Brigade with Errol Flynn. It is a true story based on the Crimean War (1854-56). "Capt. Geoffrey Vickers of the 27th Lancers reporting for duty sir." In the early years of the corps, you would hear the words, "into the valley of death rode the six hundred," which is how these kids felt. They would not go down without a fight. Our emblem - authentically represented a military badge from the British Empire, included the letters "VR" in the very center. They stood for Victoria Reigns - who was the Queen of England during the Crimean War. The corps even has a pipe snare drum, with hand painted decorations and showing ribbons with the names of the "conflicts" we won - similar to a regimental snare drum. And thanks to those "originals," the rest is drum corps history.

apoch003
Portland in the early seventies had a good corps called the "Open All Knights". I always got a kick out of that.
