mdsnsctfan
OK - so as Madison was going on...Steve R. and Dennis D. were talking about how Madison had a new ending for tonight. Well - anyone else think it's awful. Probably one of the most non-exciting Scouts ending ever. The crowd in the theatre as Madison was going on was really excited...hooting and hollaring...but after the show everyone was all...wtf was that?? That ending doesn't work...and from what I read neither did the one before it. Come On Madison!!! LET'S GO!! Overall just a bad performance tonight as well. Drill was dirty, Color Guard was dropping all over the place. The drums however were SMOKIN'!!!!
corkineaj
yeah... tonight's ending was like... "oh, we need to add some more drill and music." I can visualize what they were trying to do but I really thought there wasn't anything wrong with the ending on the San Antonio APD.
MN DCI Fan
I haven't liked any of Madison's changes this season (except for the Carmen reveal.) My buddy pointed out in the theater tonight that the best ending they had was the one they had in June.
Shady
Is it the soft ending again? Wouldn't that be the third time they have put it in this season?
madalumni
Well that's the third ending the've tried and the are all pretty weak. I can't understand why they can't find something that has the impact that a show like this needs. It just dies after the drum solo (along with Carmen ) And I think it's too late to pull out another secret ending. That is not to say that I don't like the show overall, I do. It's a drastic improvement for them. Especially in the visual and percussion departments. They made a great move in hiring Lee Beddis and Pete Webber. Both those guys are amazing writers and instructors. But jeez guys, get an ending already! (Maybe put the previous one back in...not the silent one, but the one with the cool circle morphing into the company front...that was better than this one.) madscout96
OK - so as Madison was going on...Steve R. and Dennis D. were talking about how Madison had a new ending for tonight. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And when they said it I was like "Thank goodness they did something with the ending!" Then I saw it, and was like "Well, they sure did something with the ending". Visually I really liked it. Musically I don't think it was an improvement. It still just doesn't tell you that THIS IS THE END, STAND UP NOW!!! It seems very abrupt. Strange ending or not, I'm still proud of the guys. They've had a great year! Great show, best of luck to them the next 2 days!!
corkineaj
Is it the soft ending again? Wouldn't that be the third time they have put it in this season? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No! It was more like a hit... add more fast music/drill... end with long hit that wasn't effective AT ALL. It was almost like the ending was created as an afterthought. Shady
I understand the thinking in adding a new ending finals week...can't say I agree with it. But if it hasn't worked 2 previous times in the season, why try again? Oh yeah, 3rd time is a charm. But it seems not in this case. Think they will take it out? Also, imagine what they could have done with the time they spent learning and cleaning both music and drill. If Blue passes them, I hate to point fingures, but I bet the staff would want that time back.
Phantombari1
I'm sure they have more in store for us, that ending sucked big time! Definitely not a madison ending!
