I would suggest reprising the entire 1986 show or a good portion of it. This was the first show the bushwackers ever won. Blue Devils reprised a good portion of their 1976 show in 1986 and were very successful. I know Cabs tried to reprise the '75 Muchachos show, but a) it wasn't even a Caballeros show, B) it was 27 years later and c) the '75 Muchachos were not champions. The 2006 Bushwackers have a golden opportunity and it looks like the show will be exciting! 2006 will mark the Bushwackers 25th anniversary and 20 years since winning their first championship.

yeah, but....

isn't SOMEONE out there gonna be disappointed if they bring back old music and its "not the way it was"? I mean obviously if they brought back say - Sweeney Todd - it's a new visual staff and it would be a totally different look.

If they brought back "Sunday In the Park..." and the guard doesn't have umbrellas isn't there someone that's gonna say "that's not how it was" or "it's not as good"

When I was with Bush in '99 and we played "Putting It Together" (but as a part of a Sondheim show, not a "Sunday in the Park..." show, people tried to compare it but who wants to hear a song redone that a championship horn line did so well?? (no offense to the '99 hornline lol). However I'm pretty sure this current brass line could wail through anything so I am sure it'll be great whatever the show is!

We're playing to an older crowd in DCA (some young but still...) that actually remembers these shows!

I keep asking corps to play the Alexander Nevsky Cantata by Sergei Prokofiev...it has a TON of stirring moments, an intensely dark ballad section, lots of excitement, and it's Russian...it's a great theme to expand on, and hardly ANY corps have done it. PLEASE check it out...it's perfect for our idiom, and we would really rock it out as only Bush could do.

Looking on CorpsReps.com, it looks like Crown did it in 91, Esperanza did it 2002, and a couple of others.

Well, doing music by russian composers 2 years in a row might be re-hashing, but it's completely different music, and it really doesn't matter if it's done well. The music rocks. Maybe keep it on the burner for later years. Of course, that's just my opinion.
