The Mad Plaid.

The first corps I ever saw, in 1978, their last year of greatness.

These are all real units from Racine.  You can read about most of them and see pictures of most of them at this link:

My personel favorite:  THE BEAVER QUEENS!!!

Sure J.C., pick the group with the suggestive name..does Lisa know about this?

LOL !!!

Personally, I'm still a '76 fan..will always treasure them playing 'On Wisconsin' as a closer, with Big Jim Stapleman playing 1(or2) octaves above the line.

As Lurch would say - "Who will buy this Cavalier T-shirt?" :P :P

Ah the Kiltles, they always seemed like bikers in kilts. I loved them. One of my favorite drum corps pieces is their version of Roundabout by Yes.

The Racine Kilties, Jr! The first top corps I ever saw (1963). Tom Sorensen and those great snare lines of the 60's. Played like a machine, they did. I was just listening to some 63-65 recordings of them and the precision of that line still amazes me. And, what Pavlik was doing with that horn sound was comparitively very sophisticated, especially in the first half of the 60's. I wish they would come back to div. I DCI! Thank goodness we have the senior corp to keep the memories alive.
