  1. Hell yeah!!!!!! We had one but the "powers that be" booted him and then brought him back because members were needed.
  2. I was at the show. The Kilties played good but to compare them with MBI......maybe. The guard was somewhat weak. Some of the members have difficulty with equipment and I believe one member fell. Just my opinion. Govies were a gas to watch. MBI- WOW!!!!!!!!!
  3. They made it ONE YEAR in 1998. Keith, this is cadetsfan's opinion. Mike
  4. Sacarsm aside, there are no plans in place for possible standstill, correct? Mike
  5. Any indoor arrangements if it rains? Mike
  6. "QUOTE (ContraJohn @ Jul 1 2009, 10:36 AM) * What did the Kilties actually wear (or not) under their Kilts? "Your mother's lipstick" is the standard answer. Sorry. You asked. -------------------- Dan Landbo Aged-out at 45..." Class act!!!!!
  7. I marched for about 25 years and I know the nature of "performing and the personal(varying) reasons members of any corps have for performing...". My opinion is not slighting the Kilties All Age Corps. Just my opinion. Don't get defensive. Also if I came across curt, I apologize. Mike
  8. Trash talking is part of drumcorps. I have been involved in this activity well over 40 years as a marching member,a parent of two kids who marched, and as a volunteer. Trash talking hasn't made me PC and I sleep well at night. It is what it is. Mike Looking forward to DCA weekend.
  9. "QUOTE (dci72 @ Jun 30 2009, 01:18 AM) "That's news to me. Yes, we did have two performances this evening with the marching band show as a exhibition but not the Madison show last we heard; as told we were to be on DCA sheets. Either way, The Kilties love to perform, and if the fans liked it......that's all good stuff; they pay for the tickets. The fans were GREAT at both events this evening, and the corps had a GREAT time performing for them. Personally, I'll take 4 to 5 spontaneous thunderous "standing O's" over any score. If one works hard, is dedicated, and focuses on doing the very best possible as individuals and a performing ensemble........good things tend to happen on their own." The quote above was from Bill Roetzer,Racine Kilties. I was just using his post for the Kilties DCA status." "I don't know what point you may be seeking to make, but as I mentioned, personally, if one works hard, is dedicated and focuses on doing the very best possible, etc...good things tend to happen on their own. That's just a formula for living life." bill So if performing for the fans gets you pumped up,why compete for a score? Go the exhibition route or become an Alumni corps. Just sayin' Mike
  10. Got second place in 08. Maybe some of the NE corps should travel to the Midwest. Just sayin'
  11. Rumor has it that the July 25 show, scheduled in Wausau and/or Merill has been canceled.
  12. Nothing personal, bill but it seems that the Kilts moved two step backwards and one step forward each year. Just sayin' Mike

  14. Sounds doable for me. My sister is planning to go.
  15. I live in Wisconsin so MBI would be an option,Kilties-no. Deep down I would enjoy marching with Bush.
  16. Money is REAL TIGHT NOW!!!!! Increase the size, more expenses. When I marched, 95 was the max that we had.
  17. Kay: I am 100 percent Italian and I am jealous. Guess people are passionate about the activity.
  18. The Kilts(jr) folded around 1983-1985, reformed as an alumni group in 1992, and went Sr./All age around 1995. But the alumni group formed in 1992 was a one time deal to get intrest in reforming the Kilties as a DCI group. But TPTB wanted to go the competive route. These are facts as given to me by Kiltie alumni.
  19. My bud,Jim Lopez, says that the pumkin bars ARE ENOUGH to die for. Good luck in 09 Mike
