Linnehan13
A tough question indeed. All-time? For me, Cadets 2005. I take all aspects of a show (unlike so people who only watch brass or battery). This show had EVERYTHING (hence sweeping captions). I almost wet myself multiple times during this show. Here's a list of close seconds: Scouts: 95,96 Phantom: 93,99(so many emotionsproduced by the brass),03 Cavies:95,00,04 BD:00(OH the power! Not so much in the clean department),03,04 SCV:98,04 Cadets:98,00,
TheMoonlightChef
I have many. 1990 and 1991 Star -- made me play mellophone. 1999 Cadets -- I would have killed a human being to play in that lead mello line. SCV 2001 -- raw, and in your face. WHAT TIME IS IT!!?!? 1993 BD -- Did I mention that I love baritone soloists. HOLY CRAP! 2001 BD -- could not get enough of the guard that year. 1991 Phantom -- I have nothing to say -- watch it and see for yourself. 2005 Cadets -- WOW, just WOW. Bjork's overture... 2005 Phantom -- Color and class. So amazing -- I saw it twice and can not wait to see it a million more times. My all time favorite -- 1992 Cadets. Edgy and just a little off kilter that night, BUT, the passion and power at the end of the show truly inspires me every time I hear it -- that corps never gave up. dckid80
My choice as well. For those of you that were there it was the pinnacle of what many now call the old school DCI. For all the raving that people do about french horns in the Cadets and Star, go take a listen to what the BD line was doing in La Suerte. The single best chart ever put on the field by a DCI corps. Add in a drill that literally floated, a gorgeous guard book and a smoking drumline and it's hard for me to find a weakness in this show. In fact, I use this show as the standard by which I judge all others. Many BD members though say that '82 was better but I liked the music in '80. The Cavaliers had an extraordinary show (my favorite of theirs) and deserved the title, but Cadets 1992...I mean, come on, what could be better?
