Shadow_7
I wonder what the DCA ruling is on marching with spurs? Or with hats bigger than most horns and drums. Belt buckles the size of mellophone bells. Sorry, just tossing around a few ideas. I had previously thought of starting an austin corps, The Austin Jakes. But really didn't want to endure that process myself. Best of luck. Let me know how I can help. Texas is no stranger to corps. All-Age: Dallas - http://www.frontiercorps.org/ Houston - http://gulfcoastsound.org/ Austin - http://austinstars.org/ Junior: San Antonio - http://www.revolutionypa.org/ Seguin (near Austin) - http://www.trinitydbc.org/ Shriners: Ben Hur Shrine - Austin, TX http://www.benhurshrine.org/units-clubs/un...asp?select=danb Arabia Shrine - Houston, TX http://www.shriners-houston.org/Shrine_Uni...ugle/Index.aspx Hella Shrine - Garland, TX (near dallas?) http://www.hellashriners.org/drum_corps.htm Not to mention the inactive ones. Supposedly some all female ones used to exist around here in Austin. I'm sure we can muster up some horns somewhere. Not so sure about 3 valvers, but there's lots of 2 valvers still out there. And not just in museums.
BigSev
All I can say is that we may want to consider doing our DCA Texas Circuit shows in April and May so we don't kill ourselves in the heat of the summer! B) ^0^

And not just in museums. A friend mine told me that when he was in high school in the 70's in Baytown, Tx. (outside Houston) they had an all-girl drum & bugle corps for students. I forget exactly which high school it was but it might have been Sterling. I'll find out for sure. Any of you Houston folks know about that? Austin Stars
We expect many parking lot jams in the future. You've done it before, you can do it again - go get 'em Brent... Thanks, Patrick and also thanks to everyone else for your kind words. Let me make it perfectly clear that all I'm doing is lighting the fire and passing the torch. Music City Legend would not have been a success if it hadn't been for the dedicated people on the board of directors, design and instructional staff, support staff and of cours the corps members. I got the crazy idea to get the ball rolling but the kudos go to the corps itself for making it a reality. I could never have made it happen without you. So now, Austin, lets get the ball rolling here. Edited October 14, 2005 by Austin Stars
