Michael Boo
It's been long enough since disco met its fate in the spectrum of public opinion that it would be retro to put together a disco show for some unnamed DCI corps. (Check calendar: No, it's not April 1.) So, what should we put in it? (Musically and visually.) Let's dance! (thumpa, thumpa, thumpa, thumpa...) BeachDrums
I realize this is a "tongue in cheek" thread, but I like a lot of so called disco music. Like any genre of music, I believe there's good and uh,. . . not so good. Can you say "Disco Duck?" And, I realize many songs simply would not transfer well on the field. But then, I doubt if many of the great classical composers ever thought their music would be played by marching musicians on a football field, either. Actually, I could see Jersey Surf or Shanendoah Sound doing it and rockin' the house. The judges would hate it, of course, as well as most everyone who posts on DCP, but I could see Surf or Sound doing: The Sound of Philadelphia Last Dance Never Can Say Goodbye YMCA (you know fans would be up for this one) Knock On Wood Some others pieces might be: Turn the Beat Around, I Love the Nightlife, Rock Your Baby, Heaven Must Be Missing an Angel, And the Beat Goes On (would probably need sax to do this one right, so I guess it's out). I bet the guard would have a great time with it and it'd be fun to watch. Edited December 9, 2005 by GuitarMan

Jd83
Actually, Madison and Cavies did disco shows, or at least disco style shows, in 1978. Madison placed 4th and Cavies missed Finals, placing 16th.
