KeithHall
Pick or add your fav. I could only remember those three I am going to choose Al....I love his playing on Late Night. I wish they'd feature those talented guys and girl in the band more often.
ravedodger
I wish they'd feature those talented guys and girl in the band more often. No kidding. I'd guess that I would have to move to there and attend the Late Show so I could watch/listen on breaks in the show. Maybe they could make a CD. I went with Al since he's the only one I'm familiar with on the poll. I can't think of anyone else of the top of my head. Maybe I shouldn't have voted. ffernbus3
http://www.waynebergeron.com or see his interview at http://www.gordongoodwin.com where he mentions marching in drum corps: that would be the 1971 Lynwood, CA, Diplomats. Wayne was my/our go-to guy for the highest notes in the chord back at the tender young age of 14. I do believe his credentials alone should have put him on this list. My suggestion would be for DCI Today to get on the stick and score an interview, especially with Finals being in Southern California. apoch003
Where's Maynard Fergusen? Chuck Mangione? Doc Severensen?
ffernbus3
Doc's dead....or living in Santa Ynez, I forget which. Haven't checked with Maynard lately. Chuck's still hanging around The Megalomart (?), Hank Hill spotted him there as the Phantom of same. RON HOUSLEY

ffernbus3
Thanks for the update. Doc lives about 40 miles north of my A.O. and I couldn't remember the last time he was interviewed on local TV nor the subject. I'm glad he is still with us......most of the better musical memories of my youth came out of his Tonight Show Band and some of those guys go up and play at The Hamlet in Cambria now and again, much to my personal delight.
