What do you call a person who is part of a drum and bugle corps (horns, drums, guard, majors) a) member B) marching member c) performer d) student e) all of the above f) none of the above Forgive me if this has been discussed before. I'm just curious, because it seems to be changing/ evolving/ whatever. When I joined drum corps, I couldn't play any instrument so I learned from drum corps people. Some people still say I can't play, but I survived. I was a student. So (e) all of the above. Senagod
Personally, I'd say "member". "Performer" I think you may hear more in reference to the guard.
Spandy
Marching Member is probably the best fit, or maybe Member for short, but Performer and Student are both true, also. We are obviously all Performers, since we're putting on a performance. And I'm pretty sure most of us are Students, too, even if we're not new to an instrument. I've played trumpet since I was 10 and I still learn new things at drum corps.
