DCIFanOfAllDivisions
I'm noticing a trend in many II/III corps moving towards Dynasty equipment. What is the reason for this? Better deals, lease rates, etc...?
Slow Adam
I know for percussion, it's can be almost half the price of the other brands, but you get what you pay for.
Carl306
I'm not sure of the other brands, but I'm pretty sure Dynasty has a "lease to own" kind of deal where you can pay off the equipment over time rather than purchasing it all at once. PhantomR
Dynasty is the second best brand IMO. next to King. ~>conner
Eddie
Kanstul is still the best out there. But Dynasty has the best deals.
3rd_Star_Brigade
Dynasty is the second best brand IMO.next to King. ~>conner I highly doubt that. Order of Quality Brass: Kanstul Yamaha King Dynasty Blessing
leadsop97
I don't know either. I'm sure it's because they're cheaper. Dynasty instruments are pieces of crap with poor craftsmanship. The horns are hard to tune, especially with any 2nd valve combination because the slide is almost nonexistant. The only thing good about the horns is that I'd probably be able to take it, throw it 40 yards, and it might only get a tiny little dent. But they tend to have a really nasty bright sound. I'd take Kanstul, King, or Yamaha over Dynasty. As far as percussion equipment goes, well, the drums just don't sound good to me either. something about them just makes whatever line it is sound dirty. Give the Blue Devils a line of Yamahas or Pearls and I bet the Cadets wouldn't be the favorite to win percussion every year (not saying they're not good, but BD's talent level in the percussion is like none I've ever seen, they just don't sound as clean, even if they are) But yeah, give me Pearl or Yamaha over Dynasty. Obviously, I hate dynasty....I've been in a corps for the last 3 years that plays on them, and you wouldn't imagine what we've had to go through to overcome the crappy instruments we have. PhantomR
matter of opinion. King > everything else... although I forgot Kanstul. I've never really heard Kanstul, but from what I do hear, they are pretty sweet. why dont corps use Kanstul? ~>conner
