sunbari1
how did it go? OMG, Bridgemen were AWESOME!!! I watched them practice in the afternoon and they were good, but they blew the stands down at the show! The crowd was so pumped for their appearance, cheers and foot stomping before they even played a note. They got a police escort from their warmup area to the field! I was standing on the sideline as I had helped bring the podium on the field. The emotions were just flowing on the sideline. One of the guys in the corps told me they were crying on the way to the field. I saw them practice a number of times this year, but just seeing them in their traditional banana coats and hearing them playing all those Bridgemen classics, I got choked up a few times during their performance. I was also so jealous because I couldn't be out their with them this year due to scheduling conflicts with Sun. :( The corps' performance was incredible! The crowd absolutley loved it and gave them a deserved and heartfelt standing ovation. Awesome job my fellow bananas! ^OO^

johnric
well its been a week! good luck to all the senior corps that are competing today down in Wildwood. Just looking back and getting feedback from last week has been entertaining! Most people have emailed, called, and let us know how happy they were to see us go out for the first time last week. We really did have fun doing it! What a great feeling to able to play on the field again after so many years. So for all those that have supported us so far THANK YOU!!! it means a lot that you enjoyed our performance. and to the few of you who just can't seem to understand why we are doing this? get over yourselves! I actually had to field criticisms from a couple of our alumni that they thought one of our songs was not being played well. Hello? is it not June for us too? :P We have time... oh and guys? lighten up..its an alumni corps. We are doing this to have fun and try to be good. Not to try and win a trophy! Come down from your high horses for 2 minutes to try and understand that. I know we are not of the same caliber as the corps was on the night of finals in 1980!!!!! do you really think we ever could be? Not even the things you are doing now compare to that! Oh and BTW? its rude to do that to people.... OK enough down talk... last week was good for ALL the corps that were involved! :)

Why do we do this? Because we were raised in a time when family was important. As we get older and our own families are no longer with us......it's really a great feeling to suddenly have 200 new members to your family. Renewing old friendships, making new ones. The past almost 3 years with the Park City Pride has been a great experience. It may be Hokey, but it really does become Family. Enjoy the trip.........it gets even better once you realize that you can crank it up and still feed off the applause from the crowd. THERE AIN'T ANYTHING BETTER THAN THE RUSH ON THE FIELD!!!!!!!!!!! Jim Ormiston :mmm: :mmm: :mmm: Scarlet Knights...61-64 Snare line Golden Buccaneers......65 USMC D&B.........65-69 Snare, Tenor, Soprano, Mellophone Park City Pride....04- forever.....Snare line
