Sprained ankle, What Can I Do?

don't go to your regular doc ... see a sports med doctor

I tore a muscle in my calf last July and was told by my regular doc to stay on crutches for four weeks and take it easy for 6-8 and that my season was over. Total panic led me to a sports med clinic -- the guy gave me an ice and heat regimen and some stretches, told me to stay completely off of it for two weeks and then give it a test drive. I did exactly what he told me and ended up marching the North Carolina show at the end of July as well as the rest of the season.
