DCIChamp2x
Sorry to all you Cap Reg Fans out there, but I hope Blue Stars pass CR tonight. However, I do think that they both should break 80.
Jami
I need to see both Blue Stars and CR. Unfortunately, I think the earliest chance I'll get to see either show is if I buy the DVDs. :(
chadwick
I am most interested to see the spread between Phantom and Cavies. I think Cavies will win tonight, but I can't wait to see if Phantom will further narrow the gap between them and the Machine in Green. I also think Capital Regiment will stay ahead of Blue Stars and will continue to pull away from them....I just think their show has more room to grow. Nothing against Blue Stars...loved their show. But Cap Reg just had a lot more IMO.

The Cavaliers (95.85-96.75) <<should be up near 97>> 10:31 p.m. Awards ceremony Give me YOUR predictions and opinions...and get ready for a GREAT evening of DRUM CORPS! A few observations: It has only happened once that a corps scored 97 a week in front of finals week. That was SCV and the Garfield Cadets who tied at 97.1 in Port Huron at the U.S. Open. It is very unusual that a corps scores in the 96 range also. I am very skeptical of the Cavaliers getting that high, but if they do, then a new scoring record will be set by finals. I am not sure how to take your comments on PR and the Cadets. Are all judges keeping the Cadets down, or just a few captions? The Cadets should get 94.05? Huh? Pretty specific, so have you broken down the captions to reach that, or is it just an emotional level? "The Cadets should be in the 94's by now?" Therefore you picked the lowest 94 number you could. I like the Cadets' show, but from what I have personally seen they are being very fairly treated. Not sure which caption I would identify as unfair, can you? Why is it not a reasonable score? I guess the PR comment is thinking that if PR were placed too high then there is no room for the Cavaliers. I've got some trouble with this. There is less crowding at the top in this format with only half the corps. I think judges can put corps where they feel they need to be without saving "headroom". This activity is not all about the judges. I get very tired of listening to the carping. I see a great deal of volatility in scoring in individual captions this year. I think they are trying to "call as they see it". The overall scores don't vary that much because of the number of judge's scores that make up the total. The Central Limit Theorem is a statistical analogy to this without specifically applying. Focus more on the performances and the individual captions. Corps vary from night to night. The judges are not shaping the outcome because each has too little indiviual input to the total score. Mostly they get it right.
