PhantomFanT10
Of course. I was speaking of perhaps getting a sneak peek into the selection process in and of itself. I'm not stupid. <_<
raphael18
The honest answer? There is no substitute for experience. FMM can tell you all day what to expect, but it isn't worth anything until you've done it yourself, and that's the truth.
blublood
Is it true that PR and Cavies make you pay for an audition pack that is posted to you so it cant be e-mailed around ? That profiting off the backs of kids wanting to live the dream. !
PhantomFanT10
Yes, it's $10 JUST for the information and $95 to audition (more understandable). And on top of that, unless things changed, you have to track down the music yourself. Luckily I now know tons of people here at U of I who have all your standard trumpet etutde studies!! soccerguy315
is the $95 for the audition weekend? Or just to audition, and then you have to pay more money for the weekend?
csugrad
email jd shaw at jdshaw@bostonbrass.com and ask him whatever it is you want to know. Be prepared for him to first and foremost tell you to buy the audition book from the regiment web site. LOL. Good luck!
JayM
$95!?!??!! Where I marched, the audition fee isn't the price you pay to "audition", it's the price for the whole weekend, which includes 5-6 meals, facilities, and instruction. I seriously doubt many corps are profiting off of auditionees.
