Old rule, the top few division 2s would be able to perform in DCI quarterfinals. Corps like Magic of Orlando in 2002 were able to perform all the way to DCI division 1 finals.

As for SCV Cadets, they travelled in 2000 to Finals. At the time, there was no restriction on their performance, and they ended up making semis out of Division 2.

And your point would be what? The rules allowed them to compete in Division I and they made semis...what is this "restriction" that was not placed on their performance?

Maybe he's referring to the way the week is now set up. D2/3 Finals are the same day as D1 semi-finals thus a D2/3 corps wouldn't have the chance to perform with the "big boys".

Which is too bad, because we all know there are a few Division II corps that could shake up the semi finals line up.

You guys are really, really quick to judge. I thumbs-downed the snide Tarheel Sun crack. I then matter-of-factly said that they got to 17th in semis because they were not restricted to D2 that year.

You need to get over yourselves.

Well, considering the person that made the Tarheel comment marched in Tarheel, I didn't think it was a crack at all. Maybe you shouldn't have been so quick to judge that comment.
