Skylinersop16 Posted January 2, 2007 Share Posted January 2, 2007 (edited) The Roselle Park Conquistadors will be hosting the second annual Roselle Park preseason show on Wednesday, January 10th at 5:00 PM. The location will be Madison Square Garden in beautiful New York City, NY. We invite any interested corps to sign up to join us for an evening of fun and excitement. About the Show: The format will be 1 single show with up to 20 corps performing in competition and an exhibition by the Conquistadors. The scores will be announced in a live retreat format at approx. 11:00 PM EST and a champion will be crowned at the end of the night. The winner will recieve a virtual trophy in jpg image form to use however they like. They may place it on their corps website if desired. Division does not matter and will have no effect on your score. A division 3 or Senior corps has just as much of a chance at winning! About scoring: This show is going to be a numbers game. It will be sort of like picking lottery numbers. The judging will be done in 10 different captons. Your job is to pick a number between 1 and 100 for each of the 10 captions and submit them. You will recieve a score between 1 and 10 for each number you choose. The closer you are to the actual number, the higher your caption score will be. You may use a number more than once. The 10 caption scores will be added to give your total. Example: Lets say you pick the number 27 for Visual Effect. If the actual number turns out to be 27 you will recieve a 10.0 for that caption. If you guess 26 or 28 you will recieve a 9.9, 25 or 29 a 9.8 and so on. The further away from the number you are, the less points you will receive. Ex VK DM Posted January 2, 2007 Share Posted January 2, 2007 Well once I heard about this show, I sent an email to the PR director of the Richard Nixon Presidential Library here in Yorba Linda, asking if there were any chance of getting a grant to attend this show. He immediately got back to me with a resounding YES!! They will fly the 2 older corps to the show and back (FIRST CLASS) in time to open our tour here on the west coast.
