The corps had a real nice February camp with ensembling the opening number of Gaelforce and also Eli's Comin' (making that approximately 3/4rds of the 2007 show), plus the brass learning the closing push of Gaelforce. The brass and percussion went through parade tunes. What a great staff in all captions!! The Color Guard under the direction of Scott Jones did some really cool work, and there is a new video out there (someplace) of some members performing that. The pit is strong with approximately 12 to 13. Chad Quamme (Visual Coordinator) has really put together a nice visual basic package, and his new flag and color guard uniform designs are outta sight. The guard is open to membership application for a little while yet with winter guard season going on, but Scott would like to fill it sooner than later. The percussion had nine snares, two tenors (one missing), six bass and six cymbals at the last camp with some missing, but positions still are not a "lock" so application for membership is still being accepted. The brass line has 8 contra monster players (newer 4 valvers) and numbered over 30 or so. Some members with work and band committments couldn't make it (that time of year). The corps usually goes with 38 to 40 brass, but the more the merrier, so application for membership is still open in that section. Needless to say Program Coordinator Jerry Kelsey's brass arrangements are wonderful. Full and rich, with "peel paint and move the stands back" moments Very productive, positive and fun camp (as usual!!) b**bs Next camp.....March 3rd & 4th.
