Medeabrass
With the increase to 150 members, does anybody know what the Contra err Tuba (cringe) numbers are going to look like for any of the corps this year? Since the switch to Bb, I've always felt more Contras were needed. I would love to see drum corps pouring as many "extra" members into the low brass as possible. I wonder if Phantom is thinking about 20 this year :)
Meaghatron
I think the membership increase doesn't apply until 2008.

Corps numbers are still at 135 for 2007... either way, 20 contras would be ^0^ ^0^ Edited March 14, 2007 by xXDSFLXx
Medeabrass
ooops...OK...any word from the Phantom camp? Any chance they'll atleast do 16 again?
dcifan2002
10 is enough
The Voice of Logic
Ten contras is more than enough. Much more than ten typically results in a overly bottom-heavy, muddy, dull, "dark" sound from the horn line. Ten provides the right balance for the current number of horns in most lines. contrajedi8
If you can't do it with 10, you can't do it.
Schickmeister
Well if you are trying to do 12, then ten wouldnt cut it eh?
PR_ducky
If you can't do it with 10, you can't do it. Regiment typically marches 12-16. seems like it works pretty well to me. The big difference is Regiment usually has the largest hornline in DCI each year, so the extra tubas/contras get balanced out by mre baris, mellos, and trumpets
jake_the_hydra
10 is fine, but 12 also works very well. More than 12 seems like a bit much to me . . . 20 is right out.
