Well, I've heard from a few places that they're having a rough time with the everydays process, but I heard straight from Andre Feagin's mouth that they are "doing their best." Hope that helps :)

In what respect do you mean that "they're doing their best"? Does that mean to keep the appropriate numbers needed for division 3? Or would you mind elaborating?

I really don't understand all the secrecy, we'll find out soon enough anyway.

I was disappointed to learn that the Memphis Sound had to hold their May camp outside of Shelby County. I understand that the May camp was held at Bethel College which is no where near Memphis....in fact, it's closer to Nashville. I'm sure the Bethel College option was a good one, but surely there has to be somewhere to hold camps here in Memphis.

The times I have seen the corps perform, they are really impressive. It's a shame that there aren't more local opportunities to see them. I know the corps members want to tour, ....and they should. But from the viewpoint of a casual fan, they just aren't visible in the community. There are so many opportunities for them to be out in the public eye here in Memphis.....Memphis in May, 4th of July parades, minor league ball games, etc. And yet, the only time most Memphians will get a chance to see them will be at the home show in July.

I agree. If they were closer I'd be able to help out more. It's hard to drive all the way up there with a one year old and help.

But if they were closer I could arrange baby sitting. I even offered to help them find housing closer to this area.

I don't understand why they're not doing more to promote themselves in the city.

Yep, they could've done some promotional things at Memphis in May too. Too bad...

I saw them at a make up camp in March and had to drive an hour away to that one. The horn line wasn't full at the time cause of some WGI contest or something. I was concerned, so that's why I'd like to know more information. But Andre had them sounding wonderful.

As former staff....

When I was there we were having issues IN Memphis finding housing and such. Arlington HS was the closest camp site I think we had to Memphis. We were fortunate in 2005 to have two weeks of everydays at Christian Brothers Univ, great facility. But there is something about the Memphis school district that doesn't allow overnight stays.

Perhaps there was an overstay at the FEW schools we could house at that caused them to move out northeast....that and the change of staff.

I've talked to some of the members on a free day and they said they are blending very well... that this season from a brass point atleast (I haven't heard much about about the other sections) that they will be very strong.

The hornline was full except for maybe one soprano spot but I think a vet filled it mid-everydays.

But we'll find out in like what? week and a half?

Go MEMPHO
