  1. This Weekend! http://www.etudewinterguard.com/specialpag...0auditions.html
  2. I believe I read in another post that a Crown member said they only have about 60% of what is planned to be in the show on now. I assume that's true because something very important is missing in this show that has become a trademark for Crown.....
  3. for those of you saying the guard unis are too plain, think about who's on guard staff....Adam Sage. You know more will be added throughout the season that's just his style. He's done it with Phantom every year he was there. I know they will be fabulous!!!
  4. I have seen the crown guard uniforms and I wouldn't say they are "far out" at all. They are actually simple compared to last years!
  5. Braddock's female sabre quartet that caught and then,ummmmm...... stroked their equipment. Also, Braddock's flag line toss in the center of the floor, cleanest thing I have ever seen. Centerville/The Knights opening movement sequences. Corona. All of it.
  6. It happens you know, good guards sometimes don't make finals. We missed it by .5. I was upset at first but you just have to realize that for that one show there were people who had better shows. And to discuss alter ego, I think anyone who saw them should be questioning more why they got 21st in equipment then why they were in finals! Alter Ego has impeccable technique and they perform it amazingly. They were an extremely memorable guard for me and I am glad they moved up in finals, very much deserved!!!! Also, I could understand how someone would say that SCV seemed to have a way easier book because they made it look so easy. They may not have had as many tricks or huge tosses but their choreography(key word, it's not just about tosses) was very challenging. Their flag book alone made my mouth drop! In Mia's class on Sunday she talked about how you don't need to do crazy tricks to win a dance competition and I immediately thought of SCV, they showed they were amazing in a different way. Some may not like that different way, but I am glad WGI appreciated it!
  7. Same thing here, blade broke in half, multiple hilts have broken. They are just pieces of ..... I want Kings!!!!!! They are just so expensive.
  8. Our teaser for the 2009 season is up (make sure you hit high quality):
  9. Etude's first show is at the end of January and you can "catch" us then..... wink.wink.....
  10. It is possible. I would go with Sitao if I were you to get yourself introduced to marching independently. I marched a guard that was two hours away and went to school for music(20 or more hours every semester). The thing is you have to, like anything else, budget your time and money. I knew I would be gone on the weekends so I got everything I needed to get done finished before Friday. That way I had a clear mind for the weekend of rehearsals. I can't really help you on the gas situation other than try to find someone else from your area and convince them to march as well. Then you will have a carpool buddy . This will make the trips seem shorter and help you save on gas. If you really want to do it, you will find a way. It was tough but I would never regret making the decision to march an independent guard.
  11. Crown's show is not even close to being done btw. I think everyone is going to be in for a surprise over the next few weeks, lots of changes. Apparently there are things going in that no one except the staff even knows about. And there will be changes all the way to the finish....I don't think they will beat BD but they should stay close to where they are now.
  12. Etude Independent Open has an immediate opening for a flag/add-on rifle. Anyone interested should PM me or e-mail etudewinterguard@gmail.com. This year's production is looking great so far, so come be a part of something fabulous!
  13. Etude is looking good and has over 2 min. of the show completed w/ drill and work.
  14. Thanks for clearing me up on that. Maybe I just remember the original ruling.
