Is the age of the screamer trumpet over in DCI?? Maybe, but no one can deny that there have been some special shows utilizing the screamer. So what are your top five favorites?

1) BD 93- I still listen to this show and don't care what they placed, the solo and small ensemble work is outrageous!! I could never get tired of those screamers!!

I could go the rest of my life without hearing that 4th place show. Loved the music. Hated the execution.

Hunter Moss is still a beast and it was a honor to stand in the same line with him at CV. I learned a lot from him. What a class act he is.

yep,.............last year with CV, he played some amazing notes while moving within the drill,..............freakin' awesome!

I agree.

It seemed odd not having Hunter on the sideline blasting away at a solo. Something just did not seem right about that. Can't stand in the way of progress I guess.

Madison Scouts 1983

Blue Devils 1993

Blue Devils 2004

Blue Devils 2005

And no one has mentioned Cavaliers 2010 yet. I'll do the honors. :worthy:

Which probably means the screamer era is still in progress...

If you are talking only about high notes:

In '89 Florida Wave during the soprano duet in the opener, Carlos clearly pastes an A above Double C on the soprano bugle, which is E concert and would be the F# above Double C on a trumpet.

Now if you are talking about high notes that sound good, well........... um.............. not sure if that one will qualify, lol.
