JamMan
Why do people get to play woodwinds (which aren't allowed on the field) in I&E, and yet there is no category for singers (which are allowed on the field)? I really don't care, but I feel I need a reason. Please don't turn this into a debate about whether or not vocals are a good idea in a show. bawker
Good point by the original poster...if we're going to have everything else under the sun at I&E, why not vocalists, which are legal? Countdown to the "American Idol" and Simon Cowell comments, though...(you know it's coming. :P)
tubawarrior
my guess is no one thought about it....it was probably a surprise that woodwinds got in and that might be something in the long term plan of those who put forth those ides

As I was told, a number of corps members either play woodwinds as their major instrument (learned a horn to march corps) or are woodwinds players in the guard (as many marching bands fill up their guards with woodwind players). This gives them a chance to participate in I&E, too.
madscout96
Interesting idea. Interesting, indeed. BAD, but interesting. Although a good point by the O.P. (original poster)
