AverageJoe Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 Word is being spread over the last 24 hours of a possible staff change throughout Teal Percussion and other sections based on the website?.... any word?....... Fingers crossed that it is Mike McIntosh. How sweet would that be! Blue to Teal...... Kind of in the same colour family. Whoever it is..... I hope they march synthesizers. Quote
randyb Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 There will be an announcement on this coming on Friday. Stay tuned!!! Quote
magicdirect Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 There is NO percussion staff listed on the website from last year. I would suggest that changes have already happened. Just hope that Kirk Gay is still involved for the front ensemble. Great teeacher, arranger and person. Good luck Teal. JVN Quote
magicdirect Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 Oh, quick questions. Will Teal be Open or World Class in 2009? This will have a huge impact on the level of staff hired. Big names will NOT make an Open Class corps the bread and butter team! Peace Quote

Big names will NOT make an Open Class corps the bread and butter team!Peace That's not completely true, especially considering that Teal is destined to go World Class, even if it isn't this year. I think some big names might consider it an investment. Don't forget...Gino...2002 Magic. Quote
Estancia93 Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 Hopefully whoever these new instructors are will have a little bit more class and professionalism than the previous group. i.e. Warming up your drumline directly next to someone else's hornline when there are clearly no other drumlines around and having your response be "tough ####" to the staff member who politely asks if you can move somewhere else. Thats it...... kick em' while there down. and i bet they smelled too.............. Terrell Smith and his gang are a good group of guys. Some signals had to have been crossed here. I doubt they would have done this. Any chance we can have the full details of the story? (hornline involved, warm-up scenario, location, time history of bad blood) Or would we like to keep it as vauge as possible. That usually works well around these parts. Quote
PurpleKnights Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 The rumors flying around between Open Class staff and admins during tour was that Teal is shooting for World Class in 2009. That will be DCI's call, though. Quote
