mandarins1 Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 The Sacramento Mandarins will hold auditions in Hawaii on Sunday, November 16, from 10 am – 4 pm at Mililani High School, 95-1200 Meheula Parkway, Mililani, Hawaii, 96789. This will be a more convenient way for prospective members from Hawaii and Japan to audition. As part of this event, a workshop will be held as well for brass, percussion and color guard. Look for the Mandarins to have an information table at the Mililani Band show the day before. This is a follow up to last year’s successful Hawaii auditions. This past season, the Mandarins had a number of persons from Hawaii marching in the corps. The Mandarins are looking at building on that success for the 2009 season. For more audition information, go here: http://www.mandarins.org/dci/auditions.html You can RSVP for the Hawaii workshop/audition here: http://www.mandarins.org/RSVP/ You can also RSVP for the Central Valley Brass and Guard Movement/Dance Clinic and the Mandarins December audition camp on that same page. The Mandarins California Audition Camp will be held December 13 and 14 (color guard on Sunday only) at Cosumnes Oaks High School, Lotz Parkway, Elk Grove, CA 95757 Quote

Cavie74 Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 Very cool! Now, when is Alaska gonna get some camps? Good question and by the way, did you know that you can see Russia from the pressbox at the Drum Corps Arctic Circle venue. It's probably the most egalitarian competiton because no one performs under the lights! Quote

Yeah but the mouthpieces are permanently secured to your lips and the color guard all has frost bite on their toes! :-) Could you imagine and Alaskan corps? That would be the least tan corps on tour! That would be the least tan corps on tour! You think Phantom rehearses in the cold.... They would be pure pansies compared to a hardcore Alaskan corps.... On the starting line, from Juneau Alaska... Drum Corps International proudly presents the Palinuits!! Quote

That would be the least tan corps on tour! Yeah, but in the summer they DO have sunshine almost 24 hours a day, so it's always sunny for their rehearsals! Quote
