  2. Hi Everyone - Rick forgot to close out his account, so I am joining you to sit and wait for results. He - of course is in Virgina with the corps. Whoever hears first - please post! With kids in two corps I have two shows to check on tonight. Hi Deb - Hope to catch up with you this summer. Will you be at the Syracuse show? Cheryl
  3. Hey Don: Storky's correct, and from what I understand...Brigadiers will also be sharing the facility (seeing it's theirs anyway), so you won't have to go far to check Cru and Brigs out ! Don't know our menu yet for lunch or dinner, but salt potatoes have made a few appearances, and I know just how much you hate those little spuds, eh !! Anyways, we start at 9:00 AM. Josh tells me that Statesmen are at the usual spot...Burnett Park. I think we were there with Grennies ...if memory serves. See ya'll there...drive carefully !! Rick
  4. Zair vill be no escaping ! ..................
  5. Actually, both sticks should be evenly weighted and pitched ! The best (and most consistent) company for matched wood is ProMark...YES, PROMARK !!
  6. I have to agree with you ! There's nothing worse than the bars on your xylophone and marimba 'melting' while the resonance totally disappears. That's OK though ! The bars are back to normal when you play in the evening.....you just can't rehearse in the sun, that's all !
  7. Didn't think you could sit idle for too long ! BTW: How's the BP ? Ready for a 'salt potatoe" fix...and maybe a Cuban after dinner mint ? Stay in touch and let me know when there's a get-together. Rick
  8. Hey Patrick... If you have that much to spend on 'one' concert marimba I would suggest you purchase Yamaha, Musser, Kori, or a Bergerault(sp)instrument with rosewood bars. Adam isn't bad, but you'll have a little bit better tuning of the bars with the others ! If you're looking for a good instrument for around $3000 (and you'd be able to get three of these) look into Ross with synthetic bars. They make a nice 4.3 octave instrument with a strong frame, and from what I understand (from friends that just visited the factory) they're upgrading all their keyboard instruments to go along with the Mapex line of marching percussion that we'll probably see in 2008. Hope this helps a little ! Rick Rogers,Jr.
  9. Just ordered a custom set of clubs from Hono golf in Taiwan. Can't wait to try them out !
  10. They make a good drum... but I heard they had problems with import 'rules and regulations' making it very difficult to get them into the United States.
  11. Hi everyone... Just curious if anyone has pictures from the May 20 Henrietta parade. Thanks Rick
  12. I'm sure it's mentioned in Dennis De Lucia's book "The History of Drum Corps".
  13. Hey Joe... Check out the NYS Drumline Circuit web page. You can find all the scores there ! Whitman took 4th in PSA-1, and won best snare line...with 2 freshmen and a sophmore. The judges missed a really great performance ! :P Rick
  14. Hey SkyDog... I can't 'fire' myself ! LOL Rick Rogers, Jr.
  15. If you're not doing anything Sunday April 1st at 2:00 PM, stop over to Central Square High School for the New York State Drumline Circuit Championships. It'll be a good time...no foolin' !
