For me its a tie between 03 BD and 04 BD. Both were phenomenal lines. However, Id like to support whoever mentioned the 05 BD line. I sincerely feel that the 05 BD hornline has one of the absolute best ensemble sound qualities ever. This is marred by their very dirty exectution, unfortunately, and as a result, many people dont ever take notice of just how good of a sound the 05 BD hornline produced. But man, the 05 BD trumpets couldn't nail a release spot on if their life depended on it!

to clear up some confusion...the recording was made by a member of the hornline FOR ONLY the members of the hornline...obviously there was a leak and it fell to outsiders hands. Point being...this recording is not a recording made by the Blue Devils and was then held from the public. Its a private recording meant to be kept private. Go to a camp, they won't turn you away.

Get your facts straight. Meehan is as of (!!!)2006(!!!) brass caption head. Wayne still arranges. Meehan does lots of arranging for lots of groups, but not at all for BD show music.

It kills to be undefeated all season only to get plugged during nats at the end of the season. Horrible feeling. (relatively speaking of course....things could always be worse). I voted 95. I LOVE LOVE LOVE that show. And by the way, has anyone here had the chance to listen to the BD 2000 hornline lot clip from finals (...which I have.... ) of the hornline playing the end of the closer? OH. MY. GOD. Hearing the 2000 closer with just horns and standing still, and with a good quality mic (mustve been, audio quality is great).....it give me goosebumps everytime.....what I wouldnt give to be able to stand in front of the 2000 hornline and just get pasted with that sound. (<--- I don't just use that smiley for nothing!)

On a slightly related note, a few people in this thread have commented on where the late season major DCI shows will be. From reliable sources, the last DCI regional on the road to finals 2007 will be Glendale, Arizona (Phoenix, essentially) in the new Arizona Cardinals Stadium, which is almost completed. All the Div 1 corps will be present at this show and is supposedly going to be scheduled for the week prior to Finals. While it will be hotter n' heck outside, the stadium can be enclosed and air conditioned (a necessity). Additionally, to my knowledge, this will be the first arena/dome style stadium with natural grass as a field surface, and is accomplished as a result of the entire field being able to roll outside and sit in the warm Arizona sunshine, and then rolled back into the stadium for games/performances.

for you and everyone else.....this just in......'yowza' is said to be in the show far more than last year. You may all rejoice.

bawker, regarding the guard stuff you inquire about.....from the things Ive heard from a few highly reputable sources.....its going to be some great stuff....not to worry. B)
