  3. Just a small hint John....just a small one??? Please????????
  4. Thank you for your 2 cents Joe. See you on the field.
  5. I plan on being there on the 22nd but makes it tough to get others to show up.....especially when ES and the Brigs have already announced their shows. Puts the Sabers behind the 8-ball early.
  6. Yes we were. Finished in 2nd place just behind the Govvies. Still think we won the #### contest if it hadn't been for that hurricane coming through in prelims. Drum section took no prisoners that summer under the direction of Rick Rogers and Bill Oney.
  7. If you're talking about Leslie's pulled pork lunches..................#### straight it's the most delicious food in DCA!!!!!!
  8. Last Sunday's drum practice had 3 quads, 8 snares and 3 bass. Not a bad showing. The horn section had more tuba players than tuba horns (for right now). Plenty of openings for interested members. Richard and Joe promise to buy more tubas.
  9. For those who can remember the 'good old drum corps days" from the 1960's and 1970's the name Purple Lancers should bring back many fond memories. Now after a little over a year and a half of very hard work by a few dedicated "older" members the Auburn Purple Lancers will be returning to the streets this summer. Recently purchased Yamaha drums and Jupiter horns are allowing a new generation of drum corps participants the opportunity to call themselves Purple Lancers. Practices are held Sunday afternoon's at the Trinity Methodist Church on the corner of East Genesee Street and Evans Street starting at 1PM. Horns meet in the basement and are under the direction of Harold Evans. The drum section gathers on the first floor and is under the guidance of Tom Norton and Mike Vasco. Practices end before 4PM for those who wish to attend but get there early as spots are filling up very fast!!! As for the identity of those dedicated "older" members the corps wishes to thank the hard work of Richard Gagliardi (our corps president and business manager), Joe Gagliano and Mike Vasco (our vice-presidents) and all the others listed on our website; www.auburnpurplelancers.com for all that they have done in order to return the Purple Lancers to active duty. Take the time now and visit out website or even better.......come and join!!!
  10. My list is in the signature. As for this summer, ?????? says it all. I have no idea (with the rising cost of fuel) how I will be able to participate.
  11. Wife #1 always felt it was a "silly hobby" until our daughter decided at the age of 10 that she was going to go with Daddy and be in the guard. Then it became a "cult" and I was brainwashing our children. 11 years later we still love the activity and friendships made. Soon to be wife #2 is pushing for me to go back this summer and is bummed that she isn't able to join me. She is looking forward to DCA finals weekend and spending time watching everyone perform!
  12. Thank you for the offer. I'm very flattered. But unfortunately there are 41 more weeks of school left and then I get my life back!!
  13. I saw the show and I enjoyed the show. That's my review. I am NOT going to put anything else down. I perfer to keep my derriere intact and unbarbecued. See everybody in Syracuse.
  14. You look very, very, sexxxxxxxxxxxxxxy in your toga. I can honestly say that had I marched this year not once would I have ever wanted to quit the horn line and join up with the "pitters". How soon before Mikey is wearing one??? And that kid wasn't kidding..........I went back for a second hot dog after the WS finished up!!!
  15. They won't disappoint you. It's a very good show. From what I heard at the Classic it will be very interesting to see how they present it on the field.
  16. Please keep the noise down Sunday morning..........it's the only day of the week that I get to sleep in past 3:45AM!!!! If I get the chance Saturday I may stop in ( I'm not marching this year Kyle). It is only 4 blocks away.
  17. This will be our first Drill weekend for 2007. If you're heading south on I390, take exit 1. And when you reach the Pennsylvania State Border..........turn around and come back!! Remember that they run radar south of Cohocton. Tickets start at $200.00. Best of luck to you guys this weekend. Tear that soccer field up like we have done the past two years.
  18. I would love to join the GR's but this #### college gig is cramping my drum corps career.
  19. Yea,.......amazing is a pretty good word to use to describe the drumline. Brian is really going to do wonders with this year's line. Stay tuned for more!!!!
  20. It was good to see that Bendover and the corps has brought Moondance out of retirement for 2007. One hour later it was hummin !!! Looking forward to next camp. And if there is still no snow on the ground, can we do drill???? Just kidding!!!! The Contra Section ^0^ ^0^ ^0^ ^0^ ^0^
