  4. As a current 2010 staffer with Grenadiers - I took the chance this weekend in Reading to watch as many corps as possible from the stands, and I would say the review is pretty much bang on! We know where our challenges lie going into Championships, and rest assured, we have a game plan in place!!! I am always "entertained" while reading the arguments to a review from all the people that weren't actually at the Show! The Grenadiers always have the late surge, and the reads we got Saturday night were very good to assist in our game plan for the upcoming rehearsals before prelims. As always we aim to entertain, while performing this show to the best of our ability. Beyond that it is out of our hands, but this certainly has been a great summer for having our program talked about, and a verychallenging, yet exciting program for our membership. I look forward to the race to the finish! See you in Rochester! Scott Atkins Program Coordinator / Percussion Arranger Kingston Grenadiers 2010

  14. How did they get the Rights to do Stormworks? Don't you need the Rights? Okay, in short: Of course we have obtained the rights and the permission to arrange the Stormworks music. We also have regular dialogue with Mr. Melillo, so why would anyone think that we would release our show without having obtained the rights to use the music? We've been in the activity a few years now. ??? We have never once released a show without knowing we could use the music - not the way we do business!
  15. The Kingston Grenadiers embark on a new adventure in their 51st year, introducing a fresh new direction and sound for the corps, while keeping their tradition of bringing excitement and entertainment to the DCA audience! The Kingston Grenadiers present their 2010 production: “WITHOUT WARNING” featuring selections from composer Stephen Melillo’s “STORMWORKS” that have been hailed “a new world of expression for the modern wind ensemble that ignites a fire and touches our musical soul” The emotional journey that is STORMWORKS cannot just be performed or heard, it must be experienced! With the relentless energy, passion and excitement of a suspense-filled film score, Melillo’s music leaps off the page and pulls you into a musical world unlike no other! Selections include: “Timestorm” “Before the Storm” “Into the Storm” Life's a Storm! In this musical journey of the human experience, the “Storm” may be marked by battle, by natural disaster, by need and by injury and suffering, but just like in a Storm as in Life, Light triumphs in the end, providing hope and inspiration for generations to come! Musical Arrangements by: Dave Orser, Scott Atkins and Dave Simpson. Visual Design by Duane DeWire. Choreography by Michael Watier & Nicole Orser. The Grenadiers have already begun their winter camp rehearsals for the 2010 season and welcome all interested members to come out to the next camp weekend on November 28th/29th in Odessa, Ontario. 16. More exciting announcements from the Grenadiers to come to DCP in the near future, that is if the thread can stay on topic! It really takes the excitement and positive energy out of the information when it goes so far to the left. It would be nice if it could remain a great place to share what is going on with the corps amongst our friends in the Drum Corps community without it becoming a breeding ground for negativity and personal agendas. Just sayin'...
