  1. Well, 1987, of course. Then in 1990, in the closer (makes sense, seeing as the show is supposed to represent Garfield's history in the '80s), 10:31-34 in the finals recording. Then in 1996, in the Red Pony closer, 9:52-54. Any others?
  2. Wrong again. Those three words you mentioned do indeed register on that site as British variants. Your "aweful," however, doesn't exist. It's not a word. That is not how to spell the word in either version of English. The correct spelling is "awful."
  3. I still don't understand this huge tear everyone is talking about before the drum break. It sounds perfectly fine to me...can anyone explain? It did kind of fall apart in the sixteenth-note run portion in the opener right before the tempo change though...or is this just me?
  4. Ensemble tear? Where exactly did this happen? Everything on the finals recording sounds fine to me...AMAZING show by the way.
  5. Phantom Regiment 2003 Cadets 2000 Blue Devils 1989 Star of Indiana 1991 Santa Clara Vanguard 1989 Madison Scouts 1996 Cavaliers 2002
  6. So, who's kept their sheet music from over the years from some famous shows and wouldn't mind scanning it in? I remember seeing the soprano part to Garfield 1987 once, and it was so awesome being able to see those parts on paper. Can anyone hook me up?
  7. No, I think he was talking about Aaron Copland, the composer...
  8. The girl that has the closeup at the end of "Mass" in Garfield '83...though she's probably close to 50.
  9. Best 1. Phantom Regiment comes from 4th place and wins it all in 1996 Worst 1. Jim Ott passes away Add some!
  10. This issue is simple, really. It has nothing to do with your operating system, or computer, or Internet browser. It's just that someone was dumb enough not to make sure the audio and video synced up when uploading the videos. It happens with a good majority of the ones on there. What I do is just turn down the video's sound, open the track in iTunes, and sync it up by guess and check.
  11. Phantom Regiment 1996- A Defiant Heart (Uhhhh...just listen to it) Santa Clara Vanguard 1999- Inventions For a New Millennium (This show is just plain brilliant. One of the most "maturely" designed shows ever. No cheese, not even a sprinkle.) Cadets 2000- We are the Future (The greatest drum corps show of all time, by far, bar none. Words cannot express how great this show is. THIS, my friends, is drum corps) As for Cavies 2000...yuck. I find it unlistenable. Immature musical design the whole way through. Great drill though.
  12. Maybe the problem is that all of the shows are not from CD and are from...somewhere else. However, these files sounded great on my older iPod.
  13. Just the ones that came with the iPod...but those sounded superb with my old iPod...
  14. Of course...Cadets 1993 and 2000 so far, and I'm working on getting more soon. It's tedious, though, and it takes a while, because I need to insert the DVD, choose all the right settings, burn it, move it into iTunes...etc.
  15. I had been listening to drum corps four two years on an older 4G iPod, which broke just a while ago. I had been wanting a new one, so I purchased the new model instead of getting the other one fixed. The device is great, except for one thing...drum corps doesn't sound as good as it used to! The bass is way too high, even with Bass Reducer turned on, and in every show the bass drums overpower the rest of the corps. Also, there is a lot more "noise" than "sound"...the once full chords that I heard on my iPod are not as full, while cymbal crashes and the pit are increased significantly. I was reading about this problem, and I read something about a "bass deficiency" on the older iPods that was fixed for these newer ones. I'm not sure that's the problem, though. Has anyone else had this problem, and can anyone recommend me free programs I can use to fix this problem? I'm not too optimistic...Thanks in advance.
  16. I could probably name close to 200 shows that are by far more entertaining, but I'd rather not at this moment.
  17. Alright, the following shows cannot be discussed in this topic: Star 1991, 1993 Blue Devils 1986, 1988, 2003 Cadets 1983, 1987, 1992, 1993, 1998, 2000, 2005 Vanguard 1987, 1988, 1989, 1992, 1999, 2000 Madison Scouts 1975, 1995, 1997, 1999 Phantom Regiment 1989, 1993, 1996, 2003 That should do it. I'd first like to mention SCV 2003. Mmmmm...
  18. Yeah, the original score has it in 7/8, but Jay completely revised the ending midseason and put it in 7/4.
  19. I've seen at least 200 or so shows dating back to the early '70s, and I listen to about 100 on a regular basis. I've memorized at least 50, musically, from beginning to end. And I can say, without any doubt, that I believe Cadets 2000 is the best drum corps show of all time. ...It was one of their shortest ballads ever. 1:45 or somewhere around there.
