  1. Might help, but Aeolian is the same as Natural Minor, no? So that's like saying something's in Ionian. It is, but it's also Major. :P
  2. Mad World from Donnie Darko = F Dorian
  3. My anti-vote goes to the BD '99 4:09 chord. It's clean, it's pretty, but it didn't grab hold of me when I went to listen. I actually had to stop and listen twice to make sure it was the right chord. To me, the best chord ever should be one you don't have to search too hard for.
  4. 1) Star '93 (8:03 - 8:06) 2) Crown '06 (10:34 - 10:39) 3) Star '92 (7:28 - 7:30) 4) Vanguard '04 (7:03 - 7:05) 5) Star '93 (11:11 - 11:14) 6) Cavies '02 (End of ballad) 7) Phantom '96 (9:35 - 9:37) 8) Cadets '84 (12:44 - 12:46) 9) Vanguard '00 (6:45 - 6:55) 10) *Not one chord, but a section that gives me chills everytime* Crown '05 (:50 - :55) I reserve the right to use my anti-vote :)
  5. It's just an abbreviation (albeit not a true one since it doesn't end with the last letter of the word). :P It's not the end of the world. That's like correcting someone for saying "drum corps" instead of "drum and bugle corps." :D
  6. http://www.vgmusic.com/ Good site for video game stuff too.
  7. :( Only the original soundtrack version is available on iTunes.
  8. I hadn't heard of it at all until we started learning it in my school's concert choir last week, but I've fallen in love with it since then. I'll look for the wind version though :)
  9. Not exactly a chorale in the Bach sense, but Eric Whitacre's Lux Aurumque is an amazingly beautiful piece . . . could possibly even transfer as a ballad if arranged correctly.
  10. I'm looking for it on iTunes . . . what's the exact name? Is it that Aria Di Mezzo Carattere? Does it include Overture, or is that overture for the game itself?
  11. Blue Stars did O Bless The Lord in '76 , and several corps have done All For The Best through the years. I'd love a complete Godspell show though.
  12. Never heard it, but if it's Uematsu's work, chances are that it's awesome.
  13. All those won'ts in the translation should be don'ts though :P
  14. How about: The theme from VII Suteki da Ne from FFX Eyes On Me from FFVIII And for a silly one, Odeka ke Chocobo from FFVIII. You could even make a decent warm-up from Wounded from FFVIII . . . in fact, I may try just that when I get bored tomorrow (as is bound to happen).
  15. I would love a show of Nobuo Uematsu's music (though that pretty much means Final Fantasy). I've been thinking about some of his stuff that could be done aside from what Blue Stars did. And Liberi Fatali would be awesome :)
  16. Yes, the tubas and the euphs filling the bottom out . . . loved it! Celestial Night . . .
  17. Celestial Night was definitely a goosebump moment for me :)
  18. I like the arrangement of CF, but I think the old (not the revised) version of America/O Canada is more moving for the situation.
  19. Maybe I'm going crazy, but I could have sworn I heard "Quiero Vivir La Vida Amándote" (aka "I Want To Spend My Lifetime Loving You") in Crown 2000
  20. It was probably "feet," and it means that the horns weren't marching correctly (meaning you could hear their feet hitting the ground through their playing). The tap dancing probably referred to the fact that what you did hear through their sound wasn't together either. At least I *think* that's what it meant.
  21. Prior placement? Definitely not a factor. Instruments? I wouldn't be able to put up with marching a Blessing mellophone for a summer. :P
  22. Any of the music from Brian Tyler's score to the movie Children of Dune.
  23. They aren't the best, but I think the low scores reflect more the simplicity of the book than the performance of it.
