Great Ballad... :0 -
I think the sound in general is just bad in this stadium. Not much clarity...

I just finished watching spirit, now it is stuck on a promo still shot w/ no sound.

Your skin is too scaly to get goose bumps. Oh, by the way TV is in color now.

FYI: Cavies pull out of I & E competition today
g0at replied to GREENBLUE's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
You guys crack me up. how is it possible to keep the same schedule if you changed it? just listen to yourself LOL. I feel like I am arguing with a 5 year old who is trying to argue that they want to eat candy for dinner. And, you guys REALLY think not going to I and E is sooooo dangerous health wise. -
I don't think I have seen a corps this year that DOESN'T play prior to their show. What are you talking about?

We don't, but we can find logical inconsistencies. -

Once again, this has nothing to do with the "health hazards" of I&E. -

And once again, he doesn't address the fact that if this were the case all of the competing corps should not attend I&E. This event wouldn't just keep the cavaliers unsafe. It just points out how ridiculous the notion is. I have always loved the Cavies. They have always been grade A, a true classy organization. This statement today just disappointed me. It doesn't make any sense at all. -

To announce that they are not going to attend the I&E event so quickly. Are you following? -

What does this have to do with anything? The idea that the entire corps should stay out in the sun to rehearse and avoid a day in the AC supporting participants doesn't really go in line with saving them members from getting sick. -

First of all, are you kidding me? "Stop hating on them.... really." Get real.,, Your justification for why it was a good decesion is compelte and utter nonsense. Let me ask you this: Why should any corps go to I&E? Even if they are sending completely healthy members they run the risk of getting sick. Are you insane? Under these principles no corps should send a single person to I&E. This is purely a competitive move. They CAN'T implement new changes with members gone. Between the travel time, time at I&E and the return trip it would pretty much keep any new changes from being implemented. It is as simple as that. I love the cavaliers and I think they should have just decided to make this change much earlier. One of my good friends is up in Indy and FLEW in a few days early to see his roommate play. -

I just wish they would be a little more realistic and admit they are doing it for competitive reasons. I mean seriosly, I and E is like a cakewalk compared to rehearsal outside during the summer. -
Do we really want to create a system where it is impossible for a corps to preform an equal show (In a competitive context?) Isn't it somewhat dishonest to say that it can never/should never happen?

Funny Kid at Crown's spring training

That was one of the best parts. " I like to crash other people's parties!" -
If you didn't see this video, you should watch it now. This kid just makes me laugh. It is pretty awesome. What instrument do you think he will end up playing? Obviously some kind of drum.

Are still cameras still allowed at the shows?
g0at replied to year1buick's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
A guy sitting next to me at the Alamo Dome was taking photos during the show. He had his TRIPOD out and it was rather distracting. He was practically taking up half of my seat space..... eh... All I ask is use some common sense... -
I was at the show and couldn't watch the live cast. I really hope I can check out the commentary. From what I hear, it went over well.

I never meant to get across that Drum Corps ISN'T physically demanding. I was trying to get across was that it becomes a drain over a long period of time. I was trying to relay that it is NOT like most physically demanding sports. You don't have an hour practice and a 2 hour game. IF you have ever done anything extremely physically demanding, you will know that you cannot do it for 12 hours. Drum corps is demanding because it wears and tears at you for an extended period of time, day in and day out. That is all I was getting at. A diabetic cannot go have an intense workout ( And by intense... I mean intense) and expect it to be the same as touring with a world class corps. The reason I mentioned the EMT experience was just to let the poster know that I was coming from a medical background. I run diabetic emergencies all the time. I had to be on a box ( ambulance) for 2 years. I am still puzzled at why you are comparing DCI corps members to firefighters athletically.
