  1. Is that the only show you've watched since 2000? Otherwise
  2. I 2nd SCV & Cavies 04, but don't forget BD 04 and that wicked accel But my winner is SCV 2003
  3. Hey, that was almost clever! Last time I saw phantom live was in 2009 in Indy, and there was ZERO presence (I was on the 50, too) ... but now I'm mostly in the Fan Network, non-traveling denomination and from there, its still not close to what it used to be from them.
  4. Hopefully this won't be the 2nd baritone line casualty due to Jupiter. Phantom losing their prominence was hard enough to bare.
  5. same goes for all that have done the same, with and before him! rings are overrated
  6. I understand the Pro/Con-Guidry stuff ... but rep?! Everybody was finally happy they went back to their "roots"...
  7. Supposedly changes/improvements were installed these past 3 days off. We'll see what they do tonight! BTW, what's up with the DCA corps going on in the middle of the show?! Beginning or end ... not in the middle!!! (Unless they are the entire intermission)
  8. Perhaps I missed it earlier ... what about the tough luck in their tuba section? The "hiv" going around already? Or turf monkey snag a few of them? Or ...?
  9. 2000 Blue Devils I don't think I'm wrong in saying that, I'm sure most of us would prefer them to duplicate this sound EVERY year. 2006 was close, but still not quite. Great show design and spectacular music. Prototypical BD look and flair while channeling it to a dynamic theme. Plain and simple this show doesn't come across as trying to do something just because its on the sheets. Its just fun, loud, fast, creative (while staying accessible), and entertaining. This is my favorite "image" of BD. All the madness without needing to put it on a Billboard.
  10. I thought the same thing! Just as the last chord reminds me of the ending in the first movement of Holst's 1st Suite ... anybody else catch that?
  11. Wrong again! Man you're just piling it up today... The question was which corps does it suit. Meaning--stay with me here--that you pick a corps, or you don't say anything. PRETTY SIMPLE! Regardless whether you like it or not, there are sections of this piece that fall within the general style of some corps. You can continue on with your smart-### "kill with kindness" routine, or you can just go to bed and try waking up on the correct side of the bed tomorrow. And maybe try not peeing in someone's cheerios for the ENTIRE day.
  12. 4 freaking pages of this thread, and not a single answer to my question--and no, an answer of "nobody" doesn't count. All because one ignorant person decided to vomit on the thread for no useful reason.
  13. And you didn't even listen to the piece (or else you'd know that he composes by playing piano). First off, I didn't ask what you thought about John Mackey as a composer. The question was: Which corps do you think this would suit?. If you don't like it, GO AWAY. Just say nothing. This thread doesn't concern you. Second, let's hear where you get off calling somebody else terrible at composing. Let's hear something you wrote... There are plenty of composers throughout history who were not popular in their time, yet have firmly cemented their place in music history.
  14. Thank you for adding absolutely nothing to this thread.
  15. Aurora Awakes Some incredible moments in there! Not for everybody, I'm sure ... Of course this leads to the inevitable question: Who does this suit on the field? My take: Cadets or Bluecoats
  16. 00 - Devils (What the devils should sound like EVERY year) 01 - Crossmen (My kind of show!) 02 - Cavies (Changing what drum corps can be) 03 - SCV (Great concept and music) 04 - Devils (Great energy!) 05 - Cavies (Thought they should've won!) 06 - Cavies (Coolest execution of a concept) 07 - Devils (Performers show ... loved the theme!) 08 - Phantom (Drum corps can still be old-school and emotional) 09 - Crown (that hornline...mmmm)
