  1. Thank God it's Samauri, and not Sumo...I could imagine the visuals from that.
  2. 1993 - from 1st to 12th...I think it was the best overall year. 2nd place would be 04
  3. dci.org/dvd says in the write up: 4 disc set Multiple video angles (high-camera, multi-cam, color guard, percussion) Multiple audio selections (Dolby Digital 5.1 surround, show designer commentary, music effect judge, on-field percussion judge) Behind-the-scenes features and vignettes Featuring: Blue Devils, The Cadets, The Cavaliers, Phantom Regiment, Santa Clara Vanguard, Carolina Crown, Bluecoats, Blue Knights, Boston Crusaders, Colts, Glassmen, Spirit from JSU I know it was against prescedent to think that this year would be different, but I was pretty excited thinking the 07 dvd's would have commentary/judges for all top 12. I was slightly disappointed to find that it wasn't the case.
  4. Is there a reason that dci.org doesn't have this on their site? I sent an email last week to dci.org, but did not get a reply. I think it would be a good idea to help Erica and Bianca's families out as much as possible to get the word out in every avenue possible. It's just my opinion on the matter...Thanks to Greg Orwall for keeping us all updated throughout this rough week.
  5. It is such a sad thing to happen. It is a reminder of how fragile and short our lives are. It's been wonderful to see the Colts family as well as the drum corps family coming together to pull for Erin and Bianca. Both families have quite a bit of medical expenses. You can donate to the families on colts.org. Bianca put up quite a fight this past week, and she was in my family's prayers every morning and night. Her physical life is over now, but her spirit will live on.
  6. for annapolis, didn't they shut down the whole site? I don't think they've done that since. I wonder about hits to the site during the webcast are causing issues. don't know, just an observation.
  7. Cavaliers unveiled the new ending tonight. They now have a 2 hour show. With a 91 point timing penalty, that would give them a 0.00. Maybe that's what's going on...
  8. They must be having too much fun in Denton...
  9. Are Cavaliers putting this show on? The official site of the Denton show goes to cavaliers.org.
  10. Is the show going long, or did it get rained out?
  11. The peanut butter must be left out in 100 degree temps for over an hour so it gets extra runny, just so the kids will feel at home.
  12. The show was pretty well attended - the stadium at Fayetteville High seemed pretty full partly due to a band camp going on this week at U of Arkansas, which is a block or two away. I'm a bad guesser, but I would guess 4-5000 (?) With the university close by, there are alot of DC fans, and participants in NWA. Right now, tonight's show is Arkansas only Div I show, but there's much potential in this area to put on a bigger show. it's an easily accessible part of the state with tons of hotels due to high business traffic (mainly Wal-Mart and Tyson). The fans tonight were pretty big on the Colts (It seems like alot of kids from this area march w. them), and Cadets were well received. They were especially givin' much love to the Scouts, who gave a heck of an encore! (I'm a sucker for Ice Castles!!)
  13. The colts always have had a fan oriented show, which has alot to do with the philosophy of the corps. It doesn't take a ph.d. to understand or enjoy the Colts upon viewing. They just strive to write these shows with the audience in mind. I think we are overall in a rut of writing complex shows that don't reach the audience. There are alot of good shows out there, and it might take me a few times watching it to get my feet wet, and then I might like it. A Colt show is usually a "love at first sight" type of show. I think that's why they are such a popular corps whether or not they make finals. I just saw the show live tonight at Fayetteville, AR. They were definitley "ON" in a big way! They deserved to finally break 80! The show, "Equinox" is based on a theme they've visited before - the four seasons. Brass sounded very clean, and soloists were very good. Percussion sounded pretty clean to me as well. I sat on the very front row, so I can't really say a whole lot about marching, but it did look pretty clean. Overall it was a great show and big time improvement from Atlanta! They have been on a tear this season in the rankings, and I hope to see them in 10th or better, but only time will tell on that one! It's not one of the best written shows that they've done as far as overall concept, but it's the right step towards good and better things in the future. It looked like they made a few good moves in the offseason with staff hiring including Michael Cesario as program consultant. I'm hoping that this show is an indication of great stuff from them in the future, and I'm thinking they will have a great ending to their season this year! GO COLTS!
  14. Haven't had anything but logo for about 10 minutes...
  15. good show overall colts! Soprano (trumpet) solo seemed alot weaker than the apd from a couple of weeks ago...somethings up there, but overall good show...they'll make it into top 12, but need to keep going forward!
  16. how many are in attendance right now? The high cam angle that's up right now doesn't look like there's many at all.
  17. agreed...just do it fast and maybe no one will notice!
  18. hmm...not sure if I REALLY liked Crossmen. Good opener, but not much to keep me into the show after that...maybe the closer grabbed me at the end..
  19. Crossmen - very cool opener...tie back to birdland, and then on to a new State!
  20. Maybe I'm a sucker, but I liked the over use of the fleur from different cross sections...
