There's a good close up of Devs from 80 doing a re step. It's on You-Tube also. That's pretty much how I remember everyone going from fwd to back before 85. Actually a lot of times people would just come to a halt then back up.

Ok i'll tell one.......... Zingali saying Garfield's color guard will NEVER use someone elses flags. And me and Twiggs telling him ......... well without all the F's it's not really very funny but we did use their flags.

I think they use straight line path, even steps, hit your dot or your dead for most short phrases.

AHHHHHHH one of my fav topics. Ralph is THE Man of drill design!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not only because of the major work he did with groups like Blue Rock, 27, Reading Bucs, Crossmen, Cavies and a ton o bands but more importantly because of the legacy he left behind. Just check out the guys who wrote for a coprs after he did. Zingali with 27 and Brubaker with Cavies. The most memorable thing i remember him saying is "It's not as important what you do as it is who you leave behind to continue" The entire Cadets visual program is a driect link back to Ralph and this belief. hmmmmmmmmmm............. Surreal scenario: X is sittin around feelin sorry for X-self. X is just gettin ova a break up of a long term relationship. X thinks the fans SXXK, The judges are cowards, and Hoppy should be shot. X thinks X needs a break before X becomes a bitter old queen. Then Lewis Norfleet calls X and says....... "Dude wanna write for the Cascades again"? and X says but I thought Cascades was going down and Lewis say no things are lookin great and we just hired Mike Stevens for the drums and Bekkah for the guard, 2 people X remembers foldly. And Lewis says we got this dude who recently aged outta BD who is all Xcited about gettin some mad feet happining and who would love to work with X. So then X thinks SWEET (X really likes this word), how cool to get back out to the the west coast and spread the love, (cause X really hates regionalism and jumps at the chance to work on the west coast any chance X gets). So X says why not lets do it! The a couple weeks later X gets a call from his Ex .......Hop...... and Hop says ....... "Dude wanna write for the Xmen again?" and X says but I thought you were gonna through them away? and Hop says no things are looking great and we just moved them to Texas and hired theses 2 freaks from RR HS Mark Chambers and Aaron Guidry and X says SWEET ( I told U), how cool to go to the South AND work for the BONES again. So X says why not lets do it! Then X reads this thread in DCP (X has just recently become a DCP geek) about Ethics. And X reads some funny SXXT and doesn't know who's funnier the replys the are trying to be funny or the one's that are not and X laughs so hard he pees his pants and has to go change his diapers. When X comes back he forgets what the HXXL he was talking about but thinks ........ How funny would it be to do a show based on DCP? Full of voice overs quoting Hrothgar? Then X pees his pants laughing and has to go change X's diapers again. When X comes back X forgets wht the HXXL X was talking about but he doesn't feel so bitter anymore and remembers that X does drum corps cause it's fun. X

WOW!!!!! .... That is 2 cool that something I was a part of hooked U onto D+B corps, Especially a member of such an honorable team as the G-men. I would LOVE to take all the credit for 93 but like most of the C's shows in the 90's it was a collaboration of many.

You kiddin me ...Dave's the MAN. One of the best ever. Not only a Cadet but a Lancer too!!!!!!! Dave is still mad because of 96.He was supposed to be on the marchin staff but I put him in charge of the props and roadies. He was the only person we could trust to make that extravaganza happen. Some how he got a tracter/trailer full of steel and wheels down the road and managed a troup of punk roadies into a machine that could assemble and break down the circus in 20 minutes.

Of course i don't take anything said on DCP personally .... anyone thats been wit the Maroon's the last couple yrs hast to have a tough skin. Or a sense of humor. Or a bag of valliums .......(jst kiddin) But........ there are times when U do come off as a BIT acerbic. As for you not quite gettin the show, sometimes a show needs to ask questions instead of giving answers.Lots of teams give all the answers without ever speaking a word. as to the MUSIC stuff ...... check out groups like Propellerheads, Wagon Christ, Aphex Twin, or Portishead. There's a whole thing been going on in the Electronica/Ambient music area since the 90's that is way cool. people breaking rules of form and content. All kids of experimentation with sounds and beats.Lot's of them use words, quotes, and voiceovers. Sometimes just for the ambient sounds or rhythm, sometimes just to be funny. Sometimes just to make people go HUH?????????? So now the secrets out. My favorite genre of music is ELECTRONICA!!!!!!!!!!!! Ther's only one rule to live by ........... Break'em all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
