  1. Troopers will be playing yamaha this season.
  2. In Div I Crossmen, Boston and Troopers. In Div II Memphis Sound had a great pick-up with Andre Feagin.
  3. Are you sure? Because I remember him telling the story about how he brought his horn up early during finals that year...
  4. I'm pretty sure Andre marched mello in 1997...I believe that's what he said
  5. Most brass players will want to tighten up to play loud, but you must be as relaxed as you can...my instructor likes to call it counter intuitive
  6. Here's the link: http://carolinacrown.org/artman/publish/article_328.shtml
  7. I believe Crown only aged out about 6 or 7 hornline member...
  8. Tommy Feagin, Stuart Shulman and Matt Souther
  9. I remember seeing them earlier this season...and how huge their baritone line was...it looked like half the brass line...lol
  10. I really like Crown '05!! Although I think the one before the chorale was much better...But still, both were amazing!
  11. Phantom: 96 and 03 Crown: 05 Star: any year Cadets: any year Cavies: 02
  12. Yeah, it is Chorale VI- Sol Fa by Karl Jenkins, it's a sweet song!

  14. I have a couple of friends who marched Crown this past season and they said that when they make the 777 and 444 that they also made a 666 but nobody could tell i thought that was pretty weird.....we were watching there show and then all of a sudden they were like how did you miss that 666.....weird huh?
  15. Good luck to all performing corps tonight!!!!!!!!!!
  16. The conductor will pull out the the camera while the corps is playing bttw and take a picture of this kodak moment!?!?!?!?!?
  17. I'm glad Jeff Mitchell judged last night and not tonight.
  18. Thank You BOS marcher Carolina Crown is the most underrated brass line in 05 they have a great sound and thanks to a certain brass judge they have managed to go down in there scores over there last two shows which i was told by some crown members that were there best two shows of the year but they have a very good brass line that is underrated
  19. Ok so this is my first DCI show review so sorry if it isn't that good..... Boston Crusaders: The Promise of Living My score/Placement:80.65/3 Actual score/Placement:79.9/2 Okay so I wasn't too excited about the show, I thought that this would be one of those dramatic style shows with the guard having flags saying like life, birth and death and all of that other stuff. But, this show was actually one of my favorites, when they got to there first big hit my face was blown off.......The drill was pretty cool too, some challenging moves...but the thing i liked most about this corps was the low brass sound wow! it was so dark and symphonic and the balance was good also....this show will be really good in august. Southwind: A Distorted Imagination My score/Placement:71.35/5 Actual score/Placement:69.85/5 Okay Southwind was up next.....interesting first set with all the different positions that some of the members had, i even heard one guy in the stands say wow i didnt know you could do that which was funny......Drill was pretty challenging but not too clean, brass wasnt balanced that well......the drum feature was amazing when the snares went to the tenors and played with the tenor players omg the crowd went crazy.......interesting guard uniforms some nice spots with the guard yet some not so nice spots. Spirit from JSU: Spirit of Broadway My score/placement: 78/4 Actual score/placement:76.45/4 Like BAC I wasn't looking forward to this show very much but once again I was surprised....the hornline had a great sound and had some nice trumpet solos i really like when the trumpet plays music of the night from Phantom of the Opera it sounded awesome.....the drill was pretty cool as well, the closing set was awesome....guard didnt really catch my eye with this corps....percussion was good too. Carolina Crown: Angelus! My score/placement:81.35/2 Actual score/placement:79.4/3 Ok here comes the corps that i have been waiting for.....they had some cool movement in there drill moves opening set was one of them......the intro was awesome it had big round chords and then comes GLADD which was very clear and once again the brassline played there typical big chords and they had a dark sound.....the chorale was nice but wasnt what i expected from it i thought it would be more beautiful and some louder hits in it but i was ok.......then i learnt before the show from a couple of friends that march Crown that they redid there entire closer just a day before but it was still pretty good although there were a couple of individual issues two trumpets almost fell over but had some stellar saves......balance was there but the baritones over did it in my mind.......awesome drill and i liked the set of the angels wings...the have an amazing show this year, picking up right where they left off from last year. this was my favorite show of the night Bluecoats: Caravan My score/placement:84.35/1 Actual score/placement:83.5/1 Okay so now this show just made no sense to me at all.....the brass was good and percussion also especially when the snares changed to the smaller snares they looked like practice pads sorta.....there was a spot in the show when the members did some chanting which was just weird.....there were a couple of baritone and soprano solos and balance was pretty good.....guard was awesome there was a spot where the corps stopped and turned to the guard who then did a flag spin while the corps was silent when they finished it the corps came back in just as they left off which was cool but this show didnt appeal me that much......drill was pretty good but i didnt think there that many hard movements. So that was what i thought of the corps performances tonight.
