  6. Andy, We (MSJ) marched the Plymouth show for a number of years. I used to fly up from Fla to do it when I lived there. Hey-zeus cristies froze the better part of my manhood off a number of years. The indoor show we did our best to "play in control" with the dynamics and keeping the tone in shape.....but after a while it was.....let it happen....I have to admit the fans up there are the best, they always were on their feet. Bobby is going through a little rough spot right now, a cold is kicking his cooley. To give you an example, I had to drop off a bottle of BV, 'cause he couldn't get out, and the Dr's said no booze. No booze to a Canadian is like the expression, "un dia sin donas, is como un dia sin chicharonies". Spent all summer getting my chops(what chops I have) back in shape playing for the legion guard. So ya' never know, would absolutely love to do it. Anyhow, don't be surprised if one of these weekends.........
  7. Jim, Is that I Siamese? 6 months ago we got a Sianmese/Ragdoll mix. Had 3 other Siamese through the years. Great cats!! Anyone who marched the Noreaster in Plymouth (like I did) in '97, has very mixed emotions about that parade.
  8. I got a question. How many of you on this thread that advocate adding amps/electronics go to any Bands of America shows? How about Brass Bands of America (NABBA)? The reason I ask is, I attend both as well as DCI and DCA.

  14. I thought there was an issue with Fred going into Delaware?? Evidently he got wrapped up with a Fighting Blue Hen. Is/was there any truth to this?
  15. I like your thinking. If we don't hang together we will hang separately.
  16. I like these along with the parade idea for Friday afternoon/night, with the corps that want to participate getting additional revenue for participating, regardless of where they finish. Additionally I think its time DCA moves outside it's "drum corps" silo and incorporate the community more. Make this a part of an overall festival that DCA orchestrates in the host city. Using this DCA weekend marching arts festival as a model develop a plan for building the activity throughout the season. By this I mean, once the platform is developed, use it in whole or part, in each city that hosts a DCA event, through the season. The object is to incorporate more of the people outside of the drum corps community with the event. Additionally, as much as I dislike much of what DCI has done with the artform through the years (and I'm not going to get in any arguments with anyone), I do like the idea of the clinics at show sites, including DCA weekend.
