  1. The really amazing thing is that only a few seasons ago in 2012 the question on this sort of thread was 'Do you think Sabers will be able to make it back into Finals in Class A?'
  2. White Sabers will be at McAvoy park all weekend. That's the corner of Winton Rd and Empire Blvd.
  3. “Unrequited” Segment 1: Hearts Unite Moonlight Sonata – Ludwig van Beethoven Romeo and Juliet – Pyotr Tchaikovsky Segment 2: For Love or Family Dance of the Knights from Romeo and Juliet – Sergei Prokofiev March to the Scaffold from Symphony Fantastique – Hector Berlioz First Movement from Symphony No. 4 – Pyotr Tchaikovsky Segment 3: Unrequited Love “Allegretto” from Symphony No. 7 – Ludwig van Beethoven My Immortal – Evanescence Segment 4: Finale Romeo and Juliet – Pyotr Tchaikovsky When souls unite and passions burn deep, two hearts are drawn together; however, forces within the outside world can tear them apart and only the most strong willed love will prevail. When two lovers are faced with this harsh reality, one is forced away while the other suffers a love that is unrequited. What will these lovers ultimately choose? Will they find their way back to each other or leave true love behind? The White Sabers look to continue their unique blend of sophistication and entertainment in DCA with a program featuring Tchaikovsky’s Romeo and Juliet, Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet, Hector Berlioz’s March to the Scaffold, Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata and 7th Symphony, Tchaikovsky’s 4th Symphony, and Evanescence’s My Immortal. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the 2016 White Sabers while they tackle the age old question, “Can true love prevail?”
  4. The White Sabers will be rehearsing right down the street from the show stadium at Weston Fields.
  5. It is with mixed emotions that the White Sabers Drum and Bugle Corps announces the retirement of our Corps Director, Leslie Amico, effective September 7, 2015 Leslie has been involved with the White Sabers since the late 1990s, when the corps was an exhibition group performing in parades. When the White Sabers took the field in 2005, Leslie became the Business Manager. In just our second competitive season in DCA, Leslie had an instrumental role in leading the corps to our first DCA Class A Finals, achieving second place in 2006. Upon the retirement of our previous director, Mark Gerber, in 2008, Leslie stepped up to the plate to become Corps Director, and has been in the role ever since. The White Sabers have grown tremendously under Leslies leadership, and have most recently completed our two most successful seasons to datewinning the DCA Class A World Championships back to back in 2013 and 2014. As the corps continues to expand and compete in Open Class for our very first time, Leslie remains a vital member of our Administrative Team, coordinating many of the behind the scenes logistics for the corps. Together with her husband (and Corps President) Pete Amico, Leslie even does all of the shopping and cooking for the corps, ensuring the White Sabers are the best fed corps in DCA! Leslie has always been a fundamental cog in the wheel that keeps the White Sabers alive and successful in the drum corps world, including ensuring the smooth operations of our weekly Bingo game that primarily funds the corps operations, which is no easy undertaking. Not only has Leslie been instrumental in the direction and administration of the corps, but she is truly the heart of the White Sabers organization and easily the corps biggest fan. Her dedication, commitment, and passion will be truly missed. As sad as we are that Leslie will no longer be our Corps Director, we know she will still be around, cheering us on any chance that she gets. We look forward to the new direction that the corps will go in as we actively seek a new Corps Director, but we also know that these are big shoes to fill. We love you, Leslie!
  6. There are still a few opportunities to march in Open Class with the White Sabers this summer! Come be a part of a hard working and dedicated group of people! 7. “Incantation and Ritual” Segment 1: Incantation Incantation and Dance – John Barnes Chance Segment 2: Ritual Sacrifice The Rite of Spring – Igor Stravinsky Incantation from Quidam – Cirque Du Soleil Segment 3: Release The Rite of Spring – Igor Stravinsky Uninvited – Alanis Morissette O Magnum Mysterium – Morten Lauridsen Segment 4: Celebration Danse Bacchanale – Camille Saint-Saëns In 2015, the two-time DCA Class A Champion White Sabers will entertain DCA audiences with their exploration into the ancient world by portraying savage incantations, rituals, and dance. The White Sabers look to continue their unique blend of sophistication and entertainment set to Stravinsky’s polarizing Rite of Spring, Incantation and Dance by John Barnes Chance, and the DCA crowd favorite Danse Bacchanale by Camille Saint-Saëns. The White Sabers are ready to make a big splash in their first year competing in Open Class and are ready to take on a challenging repertoire designed to put audiences on their feet in 2015! The White Sabers is one of the only tuition free Drum Corps out there. Who wouldn't like to march for free!? One of the other little known fact about the the White Sabers; we cook some of the best food in the activity! Look at that pulled pork and steaks! Don't you want to be a part of that!?
  13. Thanks for the review Jeff! Those pesky college auditions, move ins and orientations really do get in the way!! But i'm very proud of the way the corps pulled it together and put on a great show! We will have those holes filled and ready to go!
  14. Are you predicting that White Sabers and Windsor Regiment are switching uniforms and corps name???
  15. The White Sabers had an absolutely wonderful time! We REALLY appreciated our air conditioned sleeping arrangements in the auditorium. Some of our rookies got a talking to when they said "I was actually cold last night!" Our vets promptly told them to shut up and enjoy it, cause it isn't always that way :) What an awesome stadium for a show. Really top notch! We also may have overrun the nearby Buffalo Wild Wings after the show. I would guess we had one table big of 40 people
