  1. Nearly everyone I've talked to that watched the broadcast remembers seeing that missed stepoff. It's pretty hard for me to forget seeing something like that in the World Champion's performance.
  2. That was my first drum corps show ever, and only marching exposure I had before that was the first day of mb camp the previous day. I couldn't believe that SCV had beaten that
  3. Do you apply only at the beginning of the day? Generally, people who I knew who used sunblock would apply it at the beginning of every block, and sometimes in the middle of the block too (the staff would occasionally give us a longer water break to reapply sunblock).
  4. Some corps have special honors for ageouts, like my corps only lets ageouts come inside the horn circle in the parking lot. They just don't look at alumni who didn't ageout with the corps the same as alumni who did ageout, and I'm sure many corps are like this.
  5. Yes, this is my concern. There's pretty much no way I can march after this year, I have already accepted a full-time job out west for the fall, but I would definitely like to be recognized by my corps as an ageout.
  6. I'm not exactly sure what Hop meant, it's oddly worded, but the point he's making I think is that many students age out of drum corps without completing their undergrad, so we should give them another year to do drum corps since they're not really jumping into adulthood. I was just interested in what the DCP demographic is with regard to this statistic.
  7. They wanted tohave a comment about "gush 'n' go" last season, but because of the water rule it wouldn't make a whole lot of sense.
  8. On a more serious note, I'm a little confused on the age out proposal. So say a person's birthday is say...... May 24, 1987, making him currently 20. Under the current rules, he turns 21 before June 1, so he's aging out in 2008. Here's the new rule: In order to be eligible to perform as a member of a corps participating in Drum Corps International, a participant must be 22 years of age or younger, during the calendar year of the competitions. As an example, in 2008, as long as a participant does not turn 23 until January 1, 2009 or later, the individual would be allowed participation rights in the drum corps of their choice So would this mean that, if this were to pass, this person would not actually be a 2008 ageout, since he'd be eligible in 2009 when he's 22? (would this, in effect, mean there are actually ZERO ageouts this year since they could all come back?) This would actually upset people (coughme) who expected to ageout this year and have planned a year in advance under the presumption that they cannot march junior corps again, but now with this rule they would no longer be regarded as an ageout and not be honored as such.
  9. Haven't gone through in detail, but as far as I've read, GO BLUE STARS!
  10. LOL could you imagine how different judging would be if they posted judge contact information on Finals week?
  11. Lol, I think this is the best use of a game/toy like this. The basketball one I saw the other day was gold too.
  12. I think we all want May and June to come a little sooner so that DCP has real things to argue about.
  13. Clearly, the OP is of a different opinion and is asking why other people think they should have been 6th, if it's even possible to be objective about it with the top 7 all at such a high level. I can't really say, I'm no judge either, plus I'm a homer
  14. I like it the way it is now. There are a few non-big-5 corps that have great encore programs but probably go the entire season not winning a show and otherwise would never get to do encore but once at their home show.
  15. You might want to see if you can keep your toes up longer when you move instead of just getting them higher.
  16. One comment that I do have is that there should be a way to define beats in a set. Watching my show and other shows, it's apparent some moves were meant to be pretty fast but for whatever reason take a really long time, and some moves that should be very long are quite fast. Just a thought.
  17. Don't underestimate 6'5", 255 lbs quarterbacks with a laser-rocket arm.
  18. The first time I saw someone from BK march in person, my head hurt from how much was going on. It's confusing, I dunno if I could do that. I like any technique that makes your upper body look awesome. BD and variants come to mind. Don't really care about what the lower body's doing as long as it's consistent.
  19. You know, Avon High did do a football show a few years ago.
  20. It'd be just like soccer, or better, NASCAR
  21. I believe they already announced Bob Chreste as the brass caption head at SCV this season.
