  1. Snappettes Mom is free to speak her mind. As is G michael 1230 and Bawkerand boxingfred. I can disagree with them. They can disagree with me. We are all experts! right?
  2. I really like festive and athensdawgs post. I couldn't have said it better myself.
  3. On the topic of Amplification. I think the problem is activity wide. As you know for each venue you perform in, you have to adjust your mixing boards and amps. A very small stadium like Bristol and a large stadium like San Antonio can pose really big problems for all corps. I remember in Denver calling down to the Cadets techs to let them know, The first three corps ( Blue Stars, Crossmen and I forget, Had mic problems. I seen Phantom go through a whole opening song with the pit over powering the rest of the corps. The people who control the mixing boards have that 3 to 5 minute period between corps to get the job done, and when you add voice. Watch Out! Hopefully by finals all corps will get it right. On the topic of Cadet charactor costumes: I've seen them up close. I think a New York/ Broadway costume person did them. I think the Madhatter, Queen of hearts and Dani's yellow costumes look good. I think the White Rabbit looks like a faret or rat. Nice guy though very talented.
  4. My Oakland Crusader jacket is medium. My Bridgemen Jacket is medium My Gafield Cadet jacket is medium I am now an Extra Large. ( It's muscle. I swear!) So that would be a big Zero!
  5. I like the fact that The Cadets have an unique show. I don't think that the shows concept is what has them in 3rd-5th place. I think it's structure and execution. First, I think it takes ballz to put shows like: Zone part 1&2, Dance Derby, Medea, Bridgemen of the 80's, SunCoast Sound and what Crown and Boston did in the early 00's. Take Star's Medea and The Cadets Zone 2005. Unique shows done at their highest levels. I remember sitting in the stand in 93 listening to the BOO'S and people refusing to clap after Stars show. I remember sitting in many a diner after a drum corps show in 93 debating the falts and merits of Star's show. I remember competing against the bridgemen after being a member of the bridgemen and people telling me "aren't you happy you march with a real drum corps" Bridgemen are real drum corps! Star, SunCoast, Cadets all push the envelope. I've sat in the stands in Denver,Rockford, Westminster, Bristol, Beverly, etc... I always talk to the people in the stands. Some love The Cadets show and some don't. Some people are overwelmed by the amount of things going on during the show. some people don't know were to focus when watching The Cadets show. Some do. Some people think it's "absolutley refreshing". Is The Cadets show a "Klunker"? That's a matter of ones personal opinion. I love the fact that The Cadets took a chance. I like any corps that pushes the envelope. ( short of woodwinds) Are The Cadets alienating "Large" groups of fans? The 40 or so fans I talked to in the stands diners and parking lots are not alienated. Besides, How do you get to talk to "Large" groups of fans at a time. Maybe the I hate or I love The Cadets chat room? The Cadets real problem this year is execution. Captions! If the drums, horns and guard were performing in the top 2 or 3 we'd be having a different conversation. We can pretend its not true but even those who defend this show see the response from the judges. The Cadets need to clean and clarify their unique show. Oh, Quick side note. I met a family in Rockford that said they didn't like Phantom because they glorify SATAN! Talk about alienating. :P
  6. I bleed Maroon and gold but, It's an agenda when your favorite corps doesn't do well. The judges are great when your favorite corps does well. Come on, admit it. Cadets have some work to do these next three weeks.
  7. I haven't seen the Cadets since Denver. They've made alot of changes. They still have alot of work to do. I'm pulling for them to make their production as tight as posible. I'm also very proud of the Bluecoats for taking that next step. Go Blue! I hope the battle between The Devils and Cavaliers stay really close, I hope they trade win until finals. It would be great if Phantom could pull even with the top two, That will take a huge effort. I'm sad I couldn't be in San Antonio and I was really fustrated with Season Pass. But, I think this is a great year for drum corps.
  8. My uncle said the Bluecoats were fantastic! He thought Phantom was really good. He said Cadets really performed tonight. He's getting ready for cavaliers and devils.
  9. I hate to admit it but, I'm listening to Michael Jackson's Thriller album. It still sounds great! I'm also watching boxing on HBO.
  10. I wouldn't touch that question with 5 debt ceiling raises
  11. One good thing... My uncle will call me as the scores are anounced.
  12. I just did the same thing, I feel hot and bothered.
  13. My uncle says The next corps is comming on now! He thought Madison was OK, He doesn't know how they are beating Glassmen.
  14. My uncle says, Madisons on right now. He'll call me back after they perform.
  15. I bought season pass just for this show. I'll be back with the Cadets in a couple of days.
  16. I'm very greatfull for the feed. I would have been there if it wasn't for kidney stones. But, when Santa Clara performs, we'll wish for a wider veiw.
  17. Only thing I don't like about season pass is we stay bottled between the 30 yard lines.
