i have certianly been out of the drum corps loop for some time. But I do agree that it seems way too expensive anymore for kids to march. Maybe DCA would be better for certian kids because it's cheaper. My parents took me out of corps when I was a kid because 45 dollars a month was too much and weekends were too busy. I could never have done what the kids today do. Which makes me think some great kids do not get the chance these days to march with a great corps. And that's a shame.... Sponsers are a good thing if you can get one. ummm...wait a minute, hold the phone, I need a sponser for 2006! If you would like to donate to my Kiltie education..... ^0^

I joined Guardsmen Cadets in 83 when I was 11-12 to be with my friend who played a french horn. I was there until the summer of 85. 20 years later I joined the Kilties in 2005 at the age of 33-34.

Kilties December Camp was excellent!!! The guard instructor worked us so hard our arms are jello! ^0^ The horn line sounded great. The drum line sounded awesome! Very Very exciting!! I feel the same way and this is my rookie year!! It's just that the guard is very young and you don't want to stand out because at 34 you can't do what they do. And i don't want to be told i can't do this anymore. the instructors told me i had nothing to worry about. i keep almost quiting but my love for this activity keeps me coming back. i am sure i will be back next year and will try my best. never give up, right? don't leave us Seymour! we love you!
