  1. And Cadet's staff passed out teeny-tiny little pieces of paper that they would stick on your tounge before their show. I took one. I LOVED CADETS! Alice and her friends throw a groovy tea party.
  2. Yes they can! A giant parachute can "whisk away" Bluecoats and Poppy-mobiles can cart away Alice and friends. Go SCV! John "I used to live in Santa Clara!" Magic Pants
  3. I just got my tickets! Taking a friend who hasn't seen a competition in twenty years but now he's an elementary music teacher. Who else will be there? It starts at 5p. Any tips on how early to get there to get good seats? Or anything about the venue. I see movies there all the time but wondering if it will be full screen. I've heard horror stories about volume etc and this is the first time for this theater. John "I'll be wearing my BD 'The Godfather' tshirt!"
  4. 11p Eastern Time? That will be another half hour here in my Central time so I'll stay up. 5a comes early though. Go BD! Go SCV! Go BLUEEEEEEEE!
  5. I'm waiting for score reports! Can someone post them?
  6. I remember VK. When you are going for it, go for it. Throw out the kitchen sink! Loved them. They were so fun. Loved the attitude. DM with sunglasses resting on a lounge chair drinking an umbrella beverage during retreat lol.
  7. As an addendum to my original post, years before 1985, in the late '70's? I saw a PBS broadcast of DCI and saw some corp marching across the field playing "Georgia". OMG. I didn't know they showed the competitions every year so didn't know to look for it again. So I was "audibly & visually" deflowered seeing that, just didn't get physically deflowered at a live competiton until 1985. Just wanted to make sure everyone understands my sexual history. :-p
  8. I saw the Cadets in Pittsburg KS. The "four" cg (Alice, White Rabbit, Red Queen, and Mat Hatter) were WONDERFUL performers and showed great showmanship. Although there were problems with the show that I previously posted (narration) it was an enjoyable show.
  9. The first live drum & bugle corp competition I saw was in 1985. SCV pulled off their magic pants and BD did their stuff at a competition in Hayward, CA. I thought I had died and gone to heaven. A fan every since.
  10. I loved BK at the Pittsburg KS show! Wonderful CG in every way (marbled crimson/black unis, lots of body work sans equipment). Donation coming! (Do I get an autographed pic of the Sword Sorceress? Doesn't matter, I'm still hypnotized by her :-D )
  11. I proposed a new Cadet ending to Hops on his blog day before yesterday (I'm SURE he appreciated it NOT). Have the corp run through the Little White House while doing a little "Magic Pants" 1985 SCV magic I reminded him that BD pulled out a Choo-choo train exit on finals night recently so last minute changes can be done! :-D Sigh, I love the Cadets anyway this year. Just tonight watched a bootleg (albiet bad video, bad angle) performance of 2006 Cadets on "the evil" site. I appreciate them even more! John
  12. The original poster has a good point. What will happen to drum corp touring season as the price of gas goes up and up over the next few decades? Fewer shows, shorter season, higher ticket prices with $ going to a "gas fund"?
  13. Thanks for the link! I loved SCV at the Pittsburg KS show.
  14. Ok, I just about lost it reading about that. I heard SCV play it in the parking lot after a CA show and it was sooooo moving. BD's warmup sans percussion in the parking lot gets to me too.
  15. I predict BD to win. Cavie ending was a bit too gimmicky? I dunno.
  16. can some-some-one-one please post-post a link-link to the line-line up for the rest of the night-night? I can't find it online. Thx.
  17. I think he will lead the audience in a prayer, kinda like Betty Ford did at a political convention after the guy onstage had a heart attack or sumpin.
  18. bottoms up, I'll have another Bahama Mama during the rain delay inside the dome
  19. What stadium is this happening in? I went to dci.org but it had "information coming soon" for the official event website and for the stadium info link. http://www.dci.org/events/view_event.cfm?e...22-2b8a2075b1e7
