  1. We had this on the schedule and were looking forward to traveling with the Thunderbirds. But, both of our boys, T.J. and Josh were chosen to play on the Great Lakes Region soccer team at the Keystone Games that weekend, in York, PA. This is a great honor as they are the FIRST in their age group to be chosen from this area in over 5 years! We are very proud of them!! (Shamelessly proud parent!)
  2. Oh, relax.it's all in good fun. Plus, I didn't invent the phrase..........read previous posts, Reverand.
  3. Ya baby! I got this! Check mine and feel free to add me! Freely whoring! LMAO!!!!
  4. Just a little bump........ Best of luck this year. We miss you guys. Shelly (on Tom's screen name)
  5. I actually laughed until I had tears running down my face last year when I played this about 15 times in a row! Truly a classic! Thanks for reposting.
  6. The mini corps is and always has been a side project. We perform as an alumni corps all year and choose our show from the alumni repertoire(sp). On several occasions, we created an entirely new show, exclusive to our mini corps. That music was then adapted and carried over to the full corps the following year. I was not involved with the corps this year due to career choices, but I understand that the corps focused on it's first appearance at the Alumni Spectacular, which I felt was a wise decision. They chose to use music from that show which,by the way, they had already paid all the licensing fees for. The objective is and always has been, entertainment. All of this talk about rules changes really turns me away from the whole concept. Drill or no drill, music stands or not, if it is entertaining and performed well is all that really matters. I remember the first appearance of the Renegades at the mini corps contest. They were on after us and I walked outside and told several members of our corps,"I just saw the winners." Plain and simple, they entertained, they executed, they won. I believe that the next time the Renegades won, they played "Channel One Suite" from an arc, with a set drummer(who was excellent). So, they have performed both styles, drill vs. no drill, and been successful. I still believe, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Speaking only for myself, not representing the Thunderbirds.
  7. Very nicely put, Kelly. As we are fond of saying, "Once a Thunderbird, a Thunderbird for life." If that isn't family, I don't know what is! Happy Easter everyone!
  8. My favorite Poops quote: "I'll blow the skirt off a nun!" - Hard to believe it's already been a year. R.I.P. my friend. Here's to da Poops! :mmm:
  9. That is the same AL the Poops (R.I.P.) was Commander of.
  10. Once, the Erie newspaper mentioned that we were to be in a parade. We were referred to as "The Erie Thunderbirds Drunk and Bugle Corps" Also, the aforementioned "Drug and Bugle Corps" has been rumored to appeared in our fine<sarcasm> hometown newspaper. Another one: I believe the 1985 DCA recordings announcer says, "From Rochester, New York....The Rochester Statesmen". Ask the current Rochester Crusaders DM how many times HIS name has been butchered!
  11. You know, I am sick of your whole "Poor Nick" attitude. You bring my name up everytime you go here. We all know what you are trying to say. Again, if you had actually read the PM I sent, you might understand. I didn't slam you or try to make you look bad. I merely stated fact, in response to your original comments. If the facts make you look bad, tough. It ain't slammin' if it's true. Get over it.
  12. OK, you wanna bring it public. As I stated in a PRIVATE message to you, I wasn't trying to embarass you. I merely stated fact. Apparently, you can't grasp the concept of a PRIVATE MESSAGE. You decided to make it a personal attack on me with your little jabs, although I don't really get the Cheeto reference. And don't try to hide behind that "have a sense of humor" crap. What you posted was not funny and just plain mean. Try to remember who you were living with during your ill-fated attempt to march with the Cabs in 1997. You want me to embarass you? Keep it up, "friend". I am really too busy trying to improve my life to play games with you right now, so I would appreciate it if you keep me out of your little tirades on DCP. Go play with whoever it is that is amused by your crap and find another subject to belittle.
  13. I can. Can you say "1999"? Think about it brudda, 'cause I got the video. Oh, and that little bit you did in the closer don't count. <**> Be careful what you say, 'cause people are watching!
  14. Well, as stated in a message you TRIED to send me ( I got nothing)........ You ain't chit!
  15. You want a drill????? Are you sure Nick?????? :P Shelly (signed in as Tom)
  16. How about the 1986 Bushwackers? 3rd in pre-lims to World Champions, PLUS that was their first DCA show win! I think that remains one of the most impressive accomplishments in DCA history.
  17. I don't really recall, but Nick INSISTS that he came up with it.
