  1. ...or 92, or 91...took a long time to recover from the loss of the Floats.
  2. I want any & all show ideas, designs and/or concepts to be PERSONALLY CLEARED by Tony Signorelli.
  3. "What the fans want" will NEVER become a relevant factor until/when/if "the fans" play ANY significant part in the adjudication of a corps contest.........and frankly, I don't see how that could happen.
  4. The problems with fielding French Horns are fairly straightforward: The horn is so sensitive, you have to be a nearly completely perfect marcher to pull it off. In today's junior corps, it's probably all but impossible to field French Horns with today's high tempo whiplash drill. Which stinks, because the sound is SO BEAUTIFUL.
  5. The French Horn never disappeared........it's just laying low. Aside from several parade and alumni corps, the Renegades AND So Cal Dream fielded french horns competitively in 2010.
  6. OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!!!!!!!! If they did a 25th anniversary show of that theme, with "Sweet Georgia Brown", I'd probably lose my mind. LOVE THE 86 SHOW!
  7. Malaguena is SO overdone... ...any chance we could compromise and go with Malaga?
  8. Horrible. Just horrible. May God give strength to his parents, family, friends, loved ones, etc....................Amen.
  9. Oh blecch. I hadn't considered that. We've ALREADY GOT woodwind sounds now. We just don't have to look at them. Still sucks.
  10. I agree that I love drum corps, and I'm not going anywhere. Having said that, I ain't towing the party line that everything is just fine and there's nothing to complain about. To those who are "leaving the activity": do as you feel you must, but you are effectively ABANDONING the activity that brought you so much, especially if you feel that something of the activity needs to be fixed, do you not feel an obligation to be part of that solution?
  11. For groups traveling from elsewhere like Renegades, etc. it'll be fun to visit a new location and what not. For the northeast types who are used to driving no more than 3 hrs to get to a Finals location, it'll probably suck.
  12. It's nice to be talked about. Yeah.............................I voted '88 :) For obvious reasons LOL
  13. How could I possibly choose between them? Madison's 91 show led logically into the 92 show in my opinion, two parts of a whole. SCV 89 was just a redone version of the 88 show, mostly the same show.
  14. A LOT like our Casper (Horn & Battery towing truck) except Casper is a 150.............and a 2wd.............(cry, whine, sob)
  15. How much practice does one of these interservice drum corps get in comparison to a DCA drum corps?
  16. Congratulations to Sam and all affiliated with the rebirth of En Garde! I read the other thread...........you've got some interesting stuff in the works, that's for sure. Hope everything works out great! Looking forward to eventually seeing your product on the field.
  17. I could totally see a BD alum from 2010 reading this and thinking: "Gee..............can't really make out what this guy typed because of the gleam coming off of my 2010 DCI World Champion ring..........."
  18. Personally, I enjoy farting. However, farting continuously into a metal trash can in excess of 9 minutes would drive ANYONE crazy!
  19. Considering the fact that this rule would apply only to TWO organizations, I would have to object. There is absolutely no reason whatsoever to prevent a corps from it's rightful score and position just because they are funded by an organization that also funds another corps.
  20. How many years has I & E been separate for Open and World?
  21. Not sure what to think about this new format. I like the part where ANY corps gets to throw their hat in the ring for Quarterfinals, but I don't like the "one and done" approach to the Open Class "Finals", where most corps would look forward to doing two shows (semis and finals) now only get ONE show (unless of course they choose to throw in on World Quarters) Then, SEPARATING I & E into separate open AND World divisions? Isn't part of the cool thing about I & E is a level playing field where a kid from the Podunk Pirates gets an opportunity to take out a Blue Devil? Well......................guess we'll see.
