  1. You're absolutely right about Weber stealing brass players for his own selfishness, I'm sure he did this without even running it by the show/program coordinator to add insult to injury! I'd have to say the best example of this was their 2009 production - WAY too much Martha Grahaming around the field for my tastes; definitely impacted their brass score in the negative... oh wait...
  2. I love how upset you get over this point repeatedly. Yes, we all know you called CC and asked them about it and how they told it's an original piece derived from Tocatta which is the same piece Epiphany is derived from, however, Crown members have told you that THEY even referred to it as the Sweeney Todd hit. I'm not saying that's what it is, but if that's what the corps called it than who are you to disagree? That sounds a lot closer to Epiphany than a lot of other corps arrangements of some pieces, and I don't see you getting your panties in a bunch over the fact that corps retain the original names of the songs/snippets they use for their reps. Give it a rest bro.
  3. Maybe Regiment 09 showed that but 95 was amazing.
  4. Just found the video on a site that shall remain anonymous: A) holy #### B) only 823 views... I find that oddly low.
  5. prove me wrong by showing how when you switch from a mixed guard to an all female one that youre taking 20 people who would have otherwise been cut.
  6. see, you say these things but you dont actually back them up with evidence.
  7. Bc you just cut the potential talent pool in half. now instead of taking the top 20 guy and top 20 girls, youre settling for 20 people who wouldnt have made the cut if it were a mixed guard. Yeah it's neat to see them have an all female guard and yeah it's tradition, but i'd rather see a competitive phantom regiment vs a non competitive. When's the last time they had a really good all female guard? Competitively this is a stupid move.
  8. John Estacio - Frenergy I could see Crown or Cadets doing it
  9. Hmm... i work the door at a bar in Dorchester and someone Saturday night left a "Crusaders All - 60th Anniversary, 2000" poster thing there with a pic of a bunch of people on it from what looks like the inside a hotel or ballroom. I wonder if it's from the same event?
  10. First off Boo I never mentioned placement, you did. So my talking about 9th place was in response to you talking about their 6th place. And honestly, 6th place? Sorry but I want a Regiment that strives and acheives higher than that. If BD got 6th next year people would be shocked. That's what I want for Regiment. I want design to be part of Regiments identity like it was in the late 80's early 90's - it seems like no big names want to come to regiment anymore, Scotella, the previous guard caption head and now the perc caption head are all second rate. Regiment needs some big named to shake things up but people seem unwilling to work there. And in regards to JDs brass sound, who was the caption head in 2000? Favorite sounding Regiment line.
  11. Let's face it, he hasn't really come up with any winners design-wise and from what we here he is overbearing and won't let the people who are hired do their jobs as they see fit. The last statement I find to be most prominent in the visual captions. I'd like to see some new blood and fresh faces running the design portion of Regiment. I feel he is holding back the corps. What is your take on it?
